Yes refuse it! And spit in the cops face! Don't listen to me though, I'm just trying to get a cop to beat you with his nightstick!
Tea - "If you don't have a criminal record, why would you object to it?"
You gotta draw the line somewhere, if you go through life with the attitude of "I'm not doing anything wrong, why would i care?" It won't be long till you've given away all your liberties, do you stop at finger prints, or do you stop at DNA, or do you stop at RFID tags being inserted under your skin. The more you willingly give away the easier it is for a government to take your freedom.

You can refuse, but you are going to be finger printed anyway. If you don't have a criminal record, why would you object to it? Are you planning on committing more crimes in the future and do not want your finger prints on file? It would be a complete waste of your time to even try to refuse because you would just be delaying the inevitable.

You WILL be fingerprinted, and NO, You CANNOT refuse.....
The intent is to:
1. Identify who you are (despite who you say you are) and,
2. Determine whether or not you have been arrested, have outstanding warrants, or are on parole/probation.
If you refuse to submit to being fingerprinted, you will be held over until you are identified - and I don't mean you claiming or telling them who you are. People - especially arrestees - do have a higher rate of lying than the overall population.

You will be fingerprinted for anything class A Misd or any Felony. You will be printed with or without your consent. A court will hold you in contempt and in jail until you comply. Once printed the info is saved in the NCIC computer for felonies and your local state crime information computer. This info will stay with you forever or until its expunged.

Once you have been arrested you have no right to refuse being finger printed. You need to think about these consequences BEFORE you are arrested ...

The cops won't usually arrest you unless they are prepared to charge you with something. In that case, they do have Probable cause to fingerprint you.
If you are merely detained for questioning, you do have the right to refuse. Just make sure you wipe that can of soda they gave you, or they will have your prints AND your DNA.
