6 yrs of college. Some programs are 1 yr pre-pharmacy and 5 in pharmacy school, others are 2 yrs pre-pharmacy and 4 yrs in pharmacy school. This is for the US. You will then have a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D).

You can take an Associate Degree in pharmacy in two years. You can learn to be a pharmacy technician in the Army, Navy or
Air Force in a matter of weeks (it's VERY intensive training). You can take a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy in four years. There are also PhD pharmacists. That's a good seven years' college study...in some instances, eight.

6 to 8 years.
To be a full-fledged pharmacist, it used to mean at least 4 years of undergrad and at least 4 years of pharmacy school. However, many schools now are creating programs where talented students enter out of high schools and enter prepharmacy/pharmacy directly and it is a 6 year program. This trend is quickly growing and will probably be the "industry standard" within 5 more years.
