I am going away on vacation tonight to see my friend's from New York. I told my girlfriend I'd be home around the 25th. She came over last night and was crying. She told me she was upset and wanted to be with me on my birthday. I told her well she was there last year. I only get to see my friend's once to twice a year. My girlfriend is upset because she is going on vacation on the 25th which is the day I might possibly come back from my friend's house and she won't get to see me until the 30th. She then is leaving again on the 4th for a college class coming back on the 10th and leaving for college on the 25th or something like that.

I don't want to be a jerk but I told her the truth. It doesn't matter to me that she's leaving. I mean it does but it hasn't really hit me yet and I think it will take awhile. I'm staying local so nothing is changing as fast for me as it is for her. I think she's making a big federal case out of nothing!

Am I wrong?!

P.S.
she tried to make a "bet" for money that I wouldn't come home on the 25th. She bet me $20.00. I agreed to the bet but I'm not saying I will be home on the 25th if not the 25th the 27th.

Why does it matter so much that I'm home the 25th to her!!? She's leaving for vacation that day anyway!

Its the perfect time to break up! Shes heading away for school and you really don't care that shes leaving. That's why shes upset, she knows you don't really care all that much about her. Seriously let her go.

I think the fact that you told her that it didn't matter to you that she was leaving was something you should have kept to yourself. But the fact that she was getting all bent out of shape because she couldn't be with you on your bday is kinda messed up. I am a very different type of girl, I know that, but girls are crazy. You just have to realize that girls want what they want and if they don't get it...."let's throw a fit!" If she really loves you (which i'm assuming she does) she'll get over it. At the same time you may want to question your relationship, if she's picking fights with you over something stupid like you 2 having different vacation schedules. There might be somethin else goin on. And if you are looking forward to not being around her...you shold think about it too. I just got out of a relationship and those were some of the signs that it was ending. My advice....notice them now before you end up hating each other!

In her eyes, you're kind of telling her that it doesn't matter to you that you have limited time together before she heads off to college. It's kind of hurtful, but I understand where both of you guys are coming from. Try expolaining to her more how important it is to you to see your friends and see what happens. She seems kind of clingy though so that may not work. But I don't think your wrong to want to spend time with your friends.
