i have a guy friend that everyone says likes me but we have been best friends for 4 years and he is always there for me but i look at him as a friend..so what characteristics would he have if he like me

Just follow his emotions when he talks to you and see if he acts a little love duvvy, question is do you like him? If so tell him you want to be more then friends. If your not interested then keep it "cool." Love is ruff, hope I helped out though!

First of all, you need to ask yourself if you are interested to possibly take the "best friend" scenario to another level.
My answer to your question is by simply providing you with his time, sincerity and friendship is usually a sign that he really likes you.
To find out for sure you could always ask him a question that begins, "Hypothetically, if we were to date how would you feel about that?" And don't be afraid of the question or the answer.
Also, his first answer may not be the entire truth because you may have caught him of guard with the question.
And, be prepared for a few questions of his own.

If he is only your friend and has been for 4 years, well then the best way to lose him as your friend is to become his girlfriend.

i've been in that situation and didn't have a clue til he asked me out. so i'd say that when he starts talking to youh more and more even when youh say youh have to go, he starts hanging around w/youh so much more than how friends would but how a couple would, he talks to youh about your love life so much, stays single or dumps his girlfriend, and starts acting like he's your bf. but even though if youh do find out he likes youh, i would suggest to not go out w/him. it's so hard to keep a good relationship going for a long time. plus if something happens, youh never know if youh two end up not being friends afterwards. so yeah.

he might act a little like weird like abnoctious or somthing or he will be maturure and like be very nice to you and like hold your books and stuff it is hard to tell but sometimes you juat dont wanna figure it out! oh nd if oyu have been friends for 4 years hopefully whatever happens it doesnt effect that friendship!
