In the grand scheme of things, yes life is very short. So why not enjoy your life while you have it. Just don't let your enjoying get too far out of hand and impact someone else in a bad way.

The life we're living now is short; the life to come is forever!
Use this short life wisely by preparing for eternity with God, in Heaven, rather wasting it and winding up in an eternity without Him. Believe me, you wouldn't like it.

If you don't eat & drink, your life will be very short indeed. If you don't occasionally make merry, you'll wish it was shorter.
