He just told his dad some big news over the phone, since he has a bad temper! His dad yelled at him for hours & then said "I'm tired of you shitting on me go live w/ your mom" His dad is on his way home & my son is so worried that he is walking to work right now even though he doesn't have to be there til 5PM. He lives where there are no buses & he doesn't have a car yet. I do have a car, but my license is suspended. His work is pretty far away!! He called a few friends & family, but they can't get there for a while & he wants to be gone BEFORE his dad gets home! I feel so bad for him I want to cry!! I'm going to have my husband pick him up after work & have him come stay w/ me, but at some point we'll have to go to his house to get his stuff & I'm scared even about that! I wouldn't put it past his dad to park the car away from the house so my son didn't know he was there & then flip out on him or me! (His job is an "on call 24/7" job, so you never know when he could be there

How old is your son? Does his father have legal custody? If so you know you can't remove him from the house and if not why don't you have him? What were you doing that you got your license suspended? You should have been thinking of the consequences see how your actions have affected him. I feel sorry for you son that he doesn't have a stable life he deserves one. If your son fears his father he needs to contact the authorities if things get out of hand. If he's of age then he can claim his things with a police escort.

It sounds like your sons dad has a anger mangament problem. If you have to call the cops and tell them that you need to get your sons things and you are afraid of your ex.

Get a police escort when you go get his things, but is there anything so important he can't live without it? He may have memorabilia or something that's important to him, but if your ex is really crazy, he'll probably destroy them before your son returns. That is another form of abuse - property destruction.

I would let my hubby go with me to get your sons things and if you think that will just make it worse then call the cops and have them go with you. If they say they don't think there is a reason then say he threatened to hurt you and your son.

Sounds bad, sounds like you need to get ahold of his dad and talk to him, tell him to calm down that yelling and argueing helps nothing....i really hope it all works out.

See my other answer. Stop rescuing your son and stop feeding this drama. This is an adult decision your son made, so expect him to act like a man. If his father is that violent, what's he doing living there in the first place.
