Jeremiah 13:23 speaks to this.
Can a leopard change his spots?

The issue is whether "homosexuality" even exists the way the world is making it out to be...
You have to consider these questions:
What makes a person a homosexual...?
If a person has one dream or even one single thought of subtle attraction for one of the same sex, would they be considered a homosexual? Or would they have to ACT upon it?
If a person has one dream or even one single thought of subtle attraction for a person under the age of 18, does that make them a pedophile?
If a person has one dream or even one single thought of subtle attraction for an animal, would that make them a bestiosexual?
If a person has one dream or even one single thought of subtle attraction for someone that was not their wife, would that make them adulterosexuals? Fornicosexuals?
The world has MADE up an identity...a "homosexual"...but such an identity does not exist.
Jesus said that if anybody even LUSTED after another person who was NOT their spouse, that they were guilty of fornication...adultery.
The focus has been lost and people are trying to "earn" their way to heaven by being "good" people and avoiding "sin". So, they focus on what is "right" and what is "wrong"...and what is "sin" and what is not "sin"...
When the whole issue is: we are ALL doomed, for we have ALL sinned. Homosexuals are sinners. Heterosexuals are sinners. ALL people are sinners. Men are sinners. Women are sinners. Adults are sinners. Children are sinners.
Not of us live up to the Biblical standard, which demands and commands that we be perfectly holy...as GOD is perfectly holy.
And THAT is the point of the Gospel (which just means, "Good News")....in that ALTHOUGH we have all sinned and are doomed to die and go to hell, yet God (in in His love, mercy, and grace), FREELY offers forgiveness of sin and salvation through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ...who came and lived the perfect and holy life that we couldn't...and died on the cross to pay the penalty for OUR sins.
So that, anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and forgiveness of sin will not perish but have eternal life.

I am a lesbian, so I can honestly answer this. I tried changing my sexual orientation for three grueling years. I became depressed and suicidal and I wound up in a mental institution. Then I accepted that I was gay (it didn't happen overnight) and now I'm doing really well.
All three reasons you stated are reasons I tried to turn straight.
By the way, any straight person who says gays can change their orientation, you have to wonder how they are such an expert on homosexuality, don't you?

No, it is who you are. Would you change who you are just please other people? some might but that's not really them. Its not a choice.
Scenario:
If you were straight and a boy. Would you just all the sudden or think, Hey i want to be gay today. Yea its just not guna happen like that.
I mean yes you can experiment with things but you still are going to be who you are and even if you try to change your orientation its not going to feel right. And your not being true to yourself

People can *pretend* to change their sexual orientation, but ultimately the way we act (i.e. those whom we are attracted to) is genetically determined. Many priests are celibate. Does that mean they don't want to have sex? On a biological/physiological level, absolutely not. It requires conscious suppression of the reproductive instinct. The same thing goes for those who delude themselves into thinking they can counsel themselves out of homosexuality. They can pretend to be heterosexual or can attempt to remain celibate, but ultimately they are homosexual and are just wishing against their own nature.

They do it every day, but not in the way you are thinking.
They don't necessarily change it, but they deny it.
To "choose" to be gay is like choosing to be straight.
I can "choose" to experiment with another woman, but that does not define me as a homosexual.
Being homosexual is no more a choice than having blue eyes is a choice. You can choose to disguise your true eye color BUT that doesn't mean that is really what color they are, right?
Same goes with homosexuality... you can disguise it... but that doesn't change it.
Hope that helps! :)

No. Someone can act heterosexual when they are homosexual or vice versa, but they can't change their sexual orientation.

Its all about choice.
No one is born homosexual the same way no one is born a criminal. The bible even mentions some of the first Christians were gay but then changed and left those things behind to follow god.

First of all a person should never consider changing it, because it is what it is and no amount of fighting is going to honestly sincerely make it change. I personally am bisexual and that is something I have always been and I cannot change it nor would I ever want to. I love being the way I am.

No. A homosexual may try to 'change' out of guilt placed on them by society, in my opinion.
Speaking for me, I am who I am and I could not force myself to be attracted to any other sex besides the one I am attracted to.

I think that a person's orientation is the result of environment and upbringing. Many people have changed from gay to straight, and vice-versa. I think it has to do with just when in life they were open to and exposed to certain activities and environment.

Why, sure, son, of course they can.
Hel's lacy undies, this very morning I *chose* to be attracted to redheaded women. Yesterday, it was Asian women, so that PROVES sexual orientation is a "choice!"
. . . tomorrow it just might be confused young men, if they're hunky enough . . . so many choices, so little time . . . *G*
