seems the webster definition of "jealous" would be in order.
Jealous:
1. feeling resentment against someone because of that person's rivalry, success, or advantages (often fol. by of): He was jealous of his rich brother.
2. feeling resentment because of another's success, advantage, etc. (often fol. by of): He was jealous of his brother's wealth.
3. characterized by or proceeding from suspicious fears or envious resentment: a jealous rage; jealous intrigues.
4. inclined to or troubled by suspicions or fears of rivalry, unfaithfulness, etc., as in love or aims: a jealous husband.
5. solicitous or vigilant in maintaining or guarding something: The American people are jealous of their freedom.
6. Bible. intolerant of unfaithfulness or rivalry
so, is this what you seek? I think if we look at definition 6, it speaks of unfaithfulness. But that's the rub.. you'll get "my religion is the one of which God speaks." then they'll justify why they're "The One"
it goes on and on.

Jealousy is not necessarily a sin. Covetousness is. One may be rightly jealous for what is rightly his, but one would be wrong to covet what is not his.
Jealousy may be godly...
(2 Corinthians 11:2) For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy, for I personally promised you in marriage to one husband that I might present you as a chaste virgin to the Christ.
(Exodus 34:14) Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, he is a jealous God
(1 Kings 19:10) [Elijah] said: “I have been absolutely jealous for Jehovah the God of armies; for the sons of Israel have left your covenant
(Zechariah 1:14-15) Jehovah of armies has said: “I have been jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great jealousy. 15 With great indignation I am feeling indignant against the nations
(Romans 11:13-14) I glorify my ministry [to non-Hebrews], if I may by any means incite those who are my own [Hebrew] flesh to jealousy and save some from among them
Covetousness is always wrong...
(Mark 7:20-23) That which issues forth out of a man is what defiles a man; for from inside, out of the heart of men, injurious reasonings issue forth: ...adulteries, covetings, acts of wickedness, deceit, loose conduct, an envious eye, blasphemy, haughtiness, unreasonableness. All these wicked things issue forth from within and defile a man.
(Luke 12:15) guard against every sort of covetousness
(Romans 1:28-29) God gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting, filled as they were with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, badness, being full of envy
(Romans 13:9) You must not covet

My understanding is that Jesus preached love - as in 'love thy neighbour as thyself' - and jealousy doesn't seem to be very compatible there, but a rather negative attribute.
But if God is in us, - then aren't we all blessed? All part of the GOD, without having to strive to be?
In response to a earlier reply: "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth"
- any likeness of any thing - wow, I'm a sinner then - my house is full of photos (likenesses) of children, pets and more .........

Well don't resolve the question until Line Dancer posts his 2 cents worth! lol
I am not into the theology side but I'll happily discuss any of the Watchtower's bizzare rules that change at a drop of a hat!

you have to understand what he meant....
he said he was a jealous god because stupid people were worhipping idols made out or wood...they woudl carve them up and paint them...idols do not speak, think or talk..but stupid people want to pray to them....
so he kept asking why do they ignore the creator of the universe so they can pray to a bunch of wood sticks?
it was more of a complaint than an act of human - like jealousy , which would be a sign of weakness...
he was trying to reason with them and warn them they would be punished if they turned their back on the true god and went after wood sticks to be their gods.

well, Hypothetically speaking, we should always strive to be perfect as God is, but we will never be, so I guess you are right. Except that God is only jealous of your love of another God, so if you think you are a God, then He will destroy you because you have taken love away from Him.
good luck.

Only if you are jealous in the same way and things God is jealous for.
Are you jealous for His Name?
Are you jealous for pure worship?

God is not only jealous but just plain cruel, read Numbers 31 and consider being a captive mother or young boy.

The "jealousy of the LORD" is a bit different than the commonly thought of "jealousy of man".
But, yes...a Christian should strive to be "jealous" for the glory of God...just as God Himself is "jealous" for His glory.
He alone is God and deserves (demands and asks for) ALL of our heart, ALL of our mind, ALL of our soul, and ALL of strength.
So, WHATEVER we do...even eating, drinking, playing, working, having sex, etc....it should ALL be done for the glory of God alone. Yes, married people should have glorious sex - and do it with all their might...for the glory of God.
Nothing should ULTIMATELY be "done" for self or even for "another"...
When something IS "done" for another...is as if it is unto the Lord, Himself...for He alone is worthy of our love. When we love another, it is an expression or even outflowing of our love of God and His love for us and through us.
So, yes...we are to be jealous for our LORD's glory!
The opposite of "jealousy for the LORD" would be idol-worship...a most horrific sin.

Yes. If you could be like God in every way, you would be doing well.
God has warned and commanded his children not to love and worship idols or false gods made by the minds and hands of men. He said:
“I am the Lord thy God. …
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
“Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
“And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” (Ex. 20:2–6.)
Fathers, if we fail to love the living God and if we show greater love and interest for worldly things and pleasures, God has said that he will visit the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate him. A father’s disrespect for the living God and Creator may be passed on to his posterity. Likewise, a father’s love and respect may be passed on to his children.
