from what I understand, Cortisol is the body's natural "stress hormone". Hydrocodone is the pharmeceutical version of Cortisol. so, my question is, if you are stressed out, but say injure yourself and are prescribed hydrocodone, will this elevate your stress level even more, and can it be potentially dangerous?

more details-check out wikipedia's definnition of cortisol. Maybe I am reading it wrong, but it apprears as if hydrocondone (Vicodin) is the pharmecutical version of cortisol. This is what I am not understanding, as it seems like it can have an adverse reaction for someone who's stress levels are already elevated. I myself have FINALLY been diagnosed with severe anxiety disorder, but used to take hydrocodone for the headaches associated with it. I have since refused to take the drug anymore, and was wondering if that had been complicating my situation as no one was addressing the anxiety with the headaches, even though I stressed that was the reason why I thought I had them.
