Check out http://www.friendsofanimals.org for affordable spay/neuter clinics in your area. I have used their certificates, and there are vets all over the country who will do it for a lot less than their usual amount.
Please have your can neutered or spayed. It is not good for her health, and when she is in heat, she is not feeling well at all.
I think they get $65 here in the Northeast for spaying a female cat, which is much less than the customary vet charges. You will still have to make sure that your cat has all of her shots.
You should know that pets are a responsibility, and you should care for their health, just as your own, or any other member of your family, because, after all, your cat IS a member of your family, isn't she?

Call the vet office (several of them, just get out the phone book and start calling) and ask them if they know of any free spay clinics for low budget incomes. There's usually at least 1 or 2 if not more in any city, and if it's a town you live in that's small, someone will know where to point you to get her fixed.
She will continue to go in and out of heat every two weeks, and it's hard on her as much as on you. Don't wait any longer than you need to.

If you cant afford to get your cat spayed, then perhaps you should not own a pet. as far as lack of funds, I have 2 cats, one was spayed before we got her from the shelter, the other is a stray we recently took in for she was unspayed (she recently had kittens 8 weeks ago). There ARE programs that spay/neuter pets for low cost or no cost. I know of these programs for I am unemployed and disabled. I will give you the links of the local places here in my home town and perhaps it would be of some help to you. Call local shelters/vets offices/churches...YES! I said church, for there is a Unitarian church that gives assistance to people wanting their pets spayed/neutered. **** luck and once again PLEASE make the efort to look into programs in your hometown.

Most vets don't charge that much for fixing your cat. the office I worked at only really cost between $70 - $120. If you can't afford that then you really shouldn't have a cat. Owning a cat or dog is a big responsibility and its YOUR responsibility.

For her sake, you have to get her spayed. Statistically, unspayed/unneutered cats are the favorite throw away pet!! They're so cute and adorable as kittens, aren't they? And then they grow up . . . and unfortunately for them, they end up on the streets, popping out more cute little kittens who GROW UP TOO . . . etc., etc., etc. Get her fixed if you love her. Find a local cat rescue group and ask if they will help you with funds to have her spayed. It's better than throwing her out to fend for herself or dumping her in a shelter, where her most probable fate will be euthanasia.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE cats and hate that so many of them get blamed and cast off because their owners are irresponsible.
I wish you all the best of luck with finding help to have her spayed.

Keep her in the house , Call a vet and ask them what the cost is for her to be spayed. and maybe you can have a yard sale to raise the money , According to the Vet, even when she not howling she's still in heat until she gets pregnant. Good Luck!

Well, until you get enough money keep your cat away from male cats.......You can do this by keeping your cat inside.....I know it seems cruel but if you can't afford it and you don't want her to get pregnant it is the only way.....we had to do that with our cat until she could get fixed. (She already had a liter and we didn't want her to have another so we kept her inside.) Good luck!
