As has already been said it is anyone's to win OR lose once the chase starts. In my opinion his main challengers will be Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Burton, Tony Stewart and Matt Kenseth. It could be someone else but all the drivers mentioned have won a championship before except for Burton, who is extremely consistent and doesn't make many mistakes. I can't wait for the chase and the COT races should be closer by then.

I think he should watch out for all of them b/c it is too early to think he has it in the bag! Remember that, even though Jimmy Johnson won the Championship last year, at the start of the Chase, he started messing up and dropped down for a while. You never know what could happen and Gordon doesn't have that big of a lead. Personally, I'm hoping for either Burton or Edwards. But, I think that Kenseth is the best shot to take it from Gordon. Kenseth is definitely the most consistent racer, IMO.

All of them.Every driver in the top 12 is capable of putting together a hot streak.So Jeff just has to keep on keeping on and it will be championship #5.

I would say Tony Stewart, not only because I am a fan but last year he won 3 of the ten races and finished in the top 5.....5 times the chase should be gr8.

I think the obvious choice would be Jimmie Johnson. If the chase started tomorrow, Jeff and Jimmie would be tied for 1st place with 40 bonus points each.

Kenseth pulls out consistently 2nd
Jimmie Johnson a close 3rd
Stewart gets a 4th
and rounding out the top 5 is Truex

when the chase starts after richmond, it could be any one of the other 11 chasers. i really believe the 12 right now will be your 12 in the chase. consistancey will be the key to win the last nextel cup championship.

Never let your guard down. Watch out for all of them. Any of the top twelve can have their peak and get hot in the Chase.
