or false prophecy from their very own literature?

I seem some JWs are already defensive to a simple question.

Jehovah's Witnesses have a persecution complex. They believe they are the only true religion and they claim that any form of persecution proves they are the true religion.

They fail to realise that persecution (even unto death) is a common occurrence amongst Christians of other denominations - all over the world, right now. Look at the persecution of Christians in places like China and in some Islamic states. It's not just Jehovah's Witnesses who suffer for their faith. But try telling them that.

Oh, and as for contradictions, well they simply turn into ostriches, bury their heads in the sand and refuse point blank to admit that the quotations are either true or valid. It's such a shame that they never do any research into their own organisation. And it's a crying shame when they deny the evidence when it's put in front of them to examine.

But never give up on them. Persevere in prayer. Some little nugget of information, some pertinent question might strike a chord in one of them and lead them to the true gospel message. That's what happened to me 11 years ago - the love and prayers of a Christian who cared for me led me to Christ.

I would have to ask: What contradictions? What false prophecy?

"I seem some JWs are already defensive to a simple question."

I have read all the answers to your "question" and I didn't see any that came across as 'defensive'.

Why do you seem to feel that there are 'contradictions' ? Do you have an example of one of theses 'contradictions'?

That is a very good question. When I was a Witness I was led to believe that any challenge to our doctrine was a form of persecution and that the persecution was a confirmation I had the correct beliefs. After 'witnessing' we would talk and it was almost like a game of who was most persecuted.

Your perception is correct ragarding some replies.

To the Witnesses that are asking for a contradiction or false prophecy, I say simply look for them yourselves if you are really interested. There have been a number of them posted in R & S also there are plenty of internet sites that list them.

I have never "felt attacked" or "acted attacked" when someone has a question or "contridiction".
That is what we are out there doing, answering questions to help people understand their Bible and know their creator better.

To yachadoo;

We do not "think for ourselves". After all, isn't that exactly what got Adam & Eve in this mess to begin with?
Jeremiah 10:23 says "I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.

We do follow our leader(s), those being Jehovah and his son Jesus. And yes, we do blindly do as they ask us to do, knowing their love we trust them completely.

And once again, you are right. We are being attacked by our enemies, Satan is leading the group.
1 Peter 5:8 says "Keep your senses, be watchful. Your adversary, the Devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour."
I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound like a purring kitten.
Jesus said at Matthew 10:22 "And you will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name; but he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved".
OK...We have enemies, and your point is ???

In Noahs day, everyone thought they could do whatever they wanted. Paying no attention to the teachings of Noah. All the people were not evil or nasty, they choose to "think for themselves".
Interesting consequence for those independent thinkers don't you think?

As far as earthly leaders. We have a different speaker every week. No one preacher or pastor or priest to blindly follow.
Also, our speakers are not paid. They take the time to teach out of love not greed. Just look at the 700 club or any of those TV personalities, very humble and modest wouldn't you agree.

Trying to reason with a friend that attends a small Baptist church, his exact words were;
No, I really don't believe that Jesus is equal to God & I know the word trinity isn't even in the Bible. And I don't believe that God burns us in a fire forever for messing up, that wouldn't be fair and he is a fair God but...I really like the preacher, he's a great guy.
Talk about a cult.

Because if people are attacking them, then they can use those scriptures about God's people being persecuted. It fits their "we're the ONLY true religion" slogan, whether it's totally false or not.
They say they're not "attacking" Catholics etc when they expose their false beliefs, but they are by their own standards for their being attacked, so I guess by their own thought processes, then Catholics, etc are the ONLY true religion too because JW's are persecuting THEM!!!

Another source of hypocricy from them.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not have literature to have contradictions or false prophesies other than the Bible.

I have not seen any such from that.

We have written books and magazines and had them published by the Watchtower Society but what difference does it make if there have been expectations on dates and changes in understandings. Those are books written by us.

What you need to focus on is the fact that JEhovah's Witnesses are living the Bible.

You must have talked to someone on a bad day. The JW's who come by my house are always glad to engage in conversation and rhetoric about their version of the bible vs King Jams, NIV, New Living, or whatever other version I have handy.
They are also happy to talk about seeming contradictions.

For exactly the same reason that staunch christians go on the attack when non-believers, or believers of some different faith system present THEM with contradictions. First they deny that the contradictions exist at all, and then they go on to blast the other person and tell him he is "doomed"

Eeeeeeverybody, when it comes to a matter of personal spiritual beliefs, knows that HE is right, and anyone who thinks a different way is bound for hell in a jet-propelled handbasket LOL.

how many magazines do you have to go through? How far back did you go? 50 or 60 years to find something?
We have a faith that cannot be shaken. You could torture us and we would not stop believing as we do or telling it to others.
Our eternal life is more valuable than a few years left in this old evil system.

persecution, harassment, physical, emotional, and financial harm are all part of it.
We expect Satan will pull out all the stops to break us before the end.

How sad you people are being used to discriminate and abuse such a nice group of humans.
But Jesus said he would be with us until the conclusion and we have a hotline to Jehovah....so what can man do to us?

we don't say we're "being attacked" when someone differs or are shown a "contradiction"?? where did you get that from? we LOVE to show people the truth!

many times, people that show us a "contradiction" are the ones that didn't fully understand the thought in the beginning. which is O.K.-it is a joy to be able to share bible truths

also---HELLO PEOPLE-- it looks like many do not understand the definition of the word 'CULT' - please look that word up. you will see that we are NOT a cult. our leader is your creator - Jehovah God
