I have been dying my hair since I was 16 and perming it also. I am now 26 and my hair is really damaged. I have tried various shampoos, conditioners and its no use. Its really frizzy also and looks awful unless I gel it down. Would it grow back healthy if I cut it short? I wouldn't mind it short, I just want it so be nice looking hair

Your hair shaft hasn't changed - if you cut off the damaged part and let it grow back naturally, you'll see a big improvement. But you have to let it be, no more dying, no more perms. It's a trade-off.

You will need to get the damaged part cut away. However, if you continue to dye and perm it, you simply damage it again.

I learned there is a HUGE difference in shampoos/conditioners you get at the store, and shampoos/conditioners you get from a salon. It's worth it to pay more for the saloon products (plus you use less per shampoo so they last longer).
