Do you know someone that answers every question like that? Where do you want to go for lunch? It doesn't matter. Would you like to drive? It doesn't matter. When do you want to leave? It doesn't matter. Isn't that kind of rude?

When you get tired of hearing that I'll be glad to take the wheel.

If someone does it enough, you probably find it rude, but usually the person is just a little insecure and doesn't want to make the decision. That doesn't mean it isn't super annoying! If it's your close friend, tell them it bugs you that they always say "it doesn't matter" and if not, then just make the decision and the other person will have to deal. Eventually they'll speak up if they really don't like the restaurant or really don't want to drive. Sorry, there's no easy answer to this one...good luck!

Would you rather be with someone who is picky and tells you what to do? Who refuses to do any of the driving, wants to go to only expensive places to eat, and always leaves too late and gets you in trouble at work?

Be glad you have an easy-going lunch partner!

I do that with people that I don't feel comfortable with or that I am getting to know. I guess once I get an idea on how the person prefers things I start going either with the flow or vise versa. See there are some individuals that are kinda difficult to deal with and I just rather go with the flow with them.

Does it really matter?

I'm kinda like that, BUT - I say 'I don't mind' because I'm fairly indecisive and prefer to go with the flow and do what others want to do. I'm not trying to be rude. I just really have no preference! I hope I don't annoy any of my friends :D

While I don't like to hear it either, I have been guilty of saying it from time to time. In my case, I've said it mostly because I have planned out the last several outings with that person and would like for them to decide what they would like us to do. Also, sometimes I just want to be with that person and enjoy their company and it doesn't really matter what we do as long as we do it together.

I don't think its rude. I guess its their way of saying I don't mind either way. If you want to go out for lunch, you choose, if you want me to drive, let me drive, but if you want to..thats fine with me too.

I don't think that the person who constantly answers like that is trying to be rude. I think they are trying to be polite. Either way.... it doesn't matter.

LOL that's me!!! I do try to voice my opinions when it really matters to me, but if someone says Mcdonalds or Burger King, and it doesn't matter to me, I'll tell them that it doesn't matter.

I agree with Vince M!

That answer is your cue to choose. If they don't care, then you can't go wrong with ANY choice. If they lie, then it's their problem, and if they complain, THEN they are being rude.

Just because some people are unable to make a choice, it does not make them rude.
