The dictionary definition is sacred cow
–noun
an individual, organization, institution, etc., considered to be exempt from criticism or questioning.

I would have to say by that definition say.....Billy Graham. (He puts God first and thinks of people and their souls not money)
And I think Food for the Hungry is a sacred cow....a worthy organization that should be exempt from criticism.

All of the Bible, some Koran (teaching passages), some Vedas and Upanishads, some Tao Te Ching, Greek and Roman mythology, Celtic mythology, various anthologies of Native American folktales, "African Myths of Origin," some books about Wicca, a book about Druids, a book comparing Buddhist thought and Einstein's quotes, Zen parables, "Hardcore Zen," St. Augustine, and several collections of world mythology. Among others, like New Age nonsense, reincarnation, accounts of medieval convents, etc. I don't believe there is a difference between religion and mythology, although one seems geered towards explanation, the other towards doctrine. I was an anthropologist in the field before settling on a museum position, so my interest in religion comes from religion being the strongest definition of community and self in past cultures. It's true, the more you know, the less you believe.
