There are tank tops with built in cups and underwire so that a larger chested woman can wear them without an additional bra. These offer just as much decency and support that a regular bra would. If you are asking about the tanks with a built in shelf bra (just a stretchy pocket with elastic hem) I would say that unless you are very small chested, that it wouldn't offer much support. It's really all about what you are comfortable with, sports bras are similar to the tank bras but have more lycra and offer better support, try one of those. Good luck!

If you think that is an awkward question, you haven't looked around yahoo answers very much!
Depends who makes them, how big your breasts are, and how prominent nipples are.
If you are over a B cup, you probably need a bra.
If you have protruding nipples, you probably need a bra.

if you are below a 10A in bras, which i don't think even exists, then you'll be fine. if not, i'm a 34B and i used to do that because i was afraid to go bra shopping. it was not good. things stuck out if you know what i mean.

well its supposed to be. but it does NOT work at all. most of the time you can still see the nipples.

Yeah, but it depends on how thick it is. I mean if you've got it flaunt it, just not that much!
