A sex-offender just bought the house next door?

When we bought this house, in a middle-class neighborhood, an old lady lived next door,and then she died. The guy who bought her house, is a sex offender, and turned it into 2 apts.He rents one out to family,and is there all day!!!! I have two young children, and live right across the street from a school. What can I do? moving right now, is not an option...

He can be there, because technically he doesn't live there, he owns the house,and rents it to family, and he's always there.

Contact the local police station and have them question him.

Technically its not a crime, which is such bullshit. So the cops cant do anything. But since you said its close to a school, most pedophile on relase from jail are NOT allowed to move or come close to places where children are likely to be. Schools, day camp centers, swimming pools, etc.... So try calling the police first.

Which means your going to have to take this into your own hands. Do whatever it takes to piss him off badly enough to move.
Inform every single neighbor in the street, and a 2 block radius. Give them his adress, name, etc.... Get people to constantly egg his house, don't help him when he needs something, never let your kids walk around where you cant see them. Get your kids cell phones, so they can call you. Keep badgering him with letters on his door-step telling him to move the **** away.

If he even tried to do anything, to anyones kids, get all the men in the nneighborhood to beat the **** out of him.

Family comes first. Your job is to protect family at all costs. Sickos like this should not be allowed to move back into neighborhoods.

Are you currently running a daycare? I'm not sure of the laws where you live but in Michigan people are on a probation with a daycare for so many months before getting licensed. If you are he is not permitted to live next door to you. Contact the police and try to get in touch with his probation officer. Something else to do is gather proof. Filming on public streets is legal. If you see him talking with kids record him doing so. Make sure he sees you. You want him to know that people are watching. Take the tape to the kids parents and let them know the conditions of his offenses. Some people are registered offenders as teens from sexting or consensual sex in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship; he is a pedophile, completely different.

Your local sheriff should have some answers for you. How did you find out this guy is a sex offender?

You MIGHT want to find out his story.

Recently in Texas a high school couple had taken some 'nudies' of each other. BOTH of them are now being charged with production of child pornography and are registered as sex offenders.

You CAN end up on that list if your 18 and dating a girl that is 17 and her parents press charges. It will stay there even if the couple gets married when she's 18.

So Talk to the sheriff , I know here in california registered sex offenders can NOT live within 1/4 mile of a school.

It is a very broad term as to who they put on that list. Just find out and ease your mind. He might just be one of those 'high school sweethearts' that went sour.

It should be public record. Megans law.

If it is right across the street from a school he can not be there. They must stay a certain distance away from places like this. I would talk to the local police department, PTA, court system.....anybody that will listen and raise holy hell. Also make up flyers and distribute them to all the neighbors and have a meeting to decide how to handle this. Does the family living there know he is a sex offender???

Sex offender is a pretty broad description. I would find out the charge first, and see if there were any extenuating circumstances such as Was he 18 years old and had 17 yr old girlfriend and her parents got ticked off and reported him? If it turns out that he is a pedophile, then of course, that is a different story altogether.

Contact your authorites, because depending on the state that you live in he is not allowed to live within certain distances of schools. See if he some how slipped under the radars and keep your children close and talk to them about staying away from that house.

Wow! That sucks. I have a 2 year old little girl and would be uncomfortable too. Maybe see if you can do a background check and get more info on where and when things happened. Maybe talk to the local police about it and see what they recommend.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH what a nightmare. Petition the neighbourhood make it very uncomfortable for him. Public meetings at the school, no paedophiles flyer's just make sure he has been convicted and done time. make the public very aware. Were I am from they have been chased out of communities by using tactics like that. The scum they are should be executed no forgiveness.

Is he a registered sex offender? Just make sure your children don't go by him or allow them to play outside w/o your supervision. I don't think there is anything you can actually do to make him move out. If he is not registered, you could get him trouble by reporting him.

Make sure you have one of those nice large NRA stickers stuck on the glass in your front door. On the back door put one of those stickers that say "This Building Insured by Smith & Wesson". Unless he uses braille to read I am sure he will get the message.
