Quote gratuitously ripped:
The validity of biblical passages:
Conservative theologians generally teach that the Bible's authors were inspired by God to write text that is inerrant. This is compatible with II Timothy 3:16:

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, [literally God-breathed] and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"

The author of 2 Timothy was presumably referring only to the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) because the Christian Scriptures (New Testament) had not yet been assembled while he was alive. However, this verse is often used to affirm the freedom from error of the entire Bible -- Hebrew and Christian Scriptures together.

Not all Biblical verses are necessarily given equal weighting. Some Christians regard certain passages as not applicable to Christendom today:

It was both. Theists consider the bible 'the word of god'. from what they have told me.
Then again, I the Catholic Church does accept evolution. i guess some faiths are different than others in biblical literalism.

nothing in the new testament is written about the new testament.

Do your homework, the "new testament" is only a collection of work that was bundled up by a the Roman Emporer (Constantine) about 300 years after Jesus actually died... so clearly all the authors were long gone by the time it ever became the "new testament".

Do a little more homework and you'll see that Constantine was just creating the whole concept as a means of uniting the Romans under one religion to keep things more controlable. Lots of work was left out of the "new testament" both because it was unknown and because it didn't serve the purpose Constantine had in mind. The bible even if it is believed to be inspired by God is missing significant portions that are found in other gnostic scriptures.

The more appropriate way to look at the bible is that it was Harry Potter of its time and use to create civility, unfortunately too man people actually believed that Hogwarts was real and now you're left with bible thumping idiots that will never change because the dudes that created the book died before they had a chance to say, "April fools".

All scripture is given by inspiration of God......

God instructed chosen people to write things.....God knew where these parts of the writings were at all the time.....And over time HE caused and inspired chosen people to put all of HIS words together into THE HOLY BIBLE....

He protected the Cave that the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in so that skeptics could compare today's Bible with the same pages from 2000 years ago...
