According to the Bible.
Can a woman preach in church?
In 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 Paul says that women are to remain silent within the assembly: "Women should remain silent in the assemblies. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the assembly"
In 1 Corinthians 12:29 the Apostle Paul lists the different offices within His body, and all are masculine positions: "Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers?" (NIV). Nowhere did Paul or anyone else ordain a woman to official offices in the Body of Messiah.
In Titus Yahweh through His Apostle says that women are to be sober-minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, submissive to their husband. The mother also is responsible with the father to raise the children in Yahweh. She is to teach them how to love their fellow man, and Yahweh.

Well, the Bible says that preachers and deacons should be the husband of one wife. So, I think that would rule out women pastors. But I believe it is fine for them to teach in Sunday School and stuff like that, but preaching - no.

First off I'm studying to become a preacher and will be ordained in 2 years. So yes I think women can preach...my mother is a preacher (co-preaching with my dad)
Second, having studying the verses in question, Paul was talking to a specific church about a specific problem they were having in the Corinthian church.
Third, there are many women God used in the new testament. Paul mentions only some of them. He never said NOT to ordain a woman. In his letters he honored women who helped him in ministry.
Apostle means sent by God and is not specific to a man or woman nor or any of the other positions in the Body that Paul mentions.

That is the reflection of that time. These people sent letters to Paul and he answered them. Eve was the first mother and since then she is equal to a man because of that reason. She can preach and teach. Yet she is under the authority of a man only in the Lord. Men also should love the wife as God loves the Church and be submissive to his wife....they are in this together. Do not frustate what God has joined together.

The way that churches were set up in Corinth was the women on one side and the men on the other. Paul says to ask questions to your husbands at home because who wants to have women yelling across the room while there's a sermon going on? Women would have been less educated in history and doctrine, thus they would have more questions.
It's all about the cultural context. Trying to read it literally into our society just does not work.
Junia was a female apostle. Her name was translated into "Junius" to make it look more masculine by early translators, and it's corrected now in accurate translations.
I think women have a lot to say, and there's no reason to forbid them from teaching and/or preaching.

I am generally not a fan of female ministers anymore than female comedians. I'm not sure why but there's usually something that's "missing."
There are exceptions like the great Kathryn Kuhlman and there are exceptions in female comedians too.
To me, it has nothing to do with what you mentioned it's just many female ministers seem to be following the style of a male minister, sometimes their husband, and it is obvious to the listener. One needs to find themself, follow their own style, be sincere and don't be loud. That goes for male ministers. If you have a hearing problem, go get it fixed. Don't raise your voice at me when I come to your church. Teach me if you have something to teach.

I still don't get why women weren't allowed those rights in those times. If your god made all men equal, then he is also adding the rule to women. Sometimes the word "man" is used to describe the men and women of the human race. I think that it would be interesting to see a woman preaching in a Catholic or Christian church, but I will never see it because I am Atheist.

That's because women don't need to. Men are the ones that need saving. How many times do I have to point this out? Women are perfect. Men NEED religion more than women do. That's a fact. And when a MAN prays, it is something.
In our genetic archaeological record, we share a common gene with a woman that is over 150,000 years old. We share a common gene with a man that is only 60,000 years old. Now how long did woman have to wait for the right man to come along? Sheesh. Do the math.

The Bible was written by MAN not God. Is it possible that there were mistakes made on purpose to make man the stronger race??? If one wants to follow God (any God) then they must find God themselves, not through scriptures written by humans. Its evident that we ruin everything we touch, why should religion be any different??? If you do not like a woman reading you the scriptures that you care not to figgure out on your own, then go to a different church.

I'm very against the catholic church's desicion to not allow women priests. This is implying that women are inferior and not equal to preach in Gods eyes. That simply isn't true. I don't agree with this.

I agree with Rachel 2 days.
Yes, women are made to preach , teach, sing, inspire, dream, make decisions, and be all that God intended when he created them.
I am neither male or female, I am one in Christ Jesus!
