I just got a new job and I am really depressed because I am moving in about three to six months, and I really want to move now but I have to work at this new job for the sake of saving money. I have become depressed and sad, and its tearing me apart. How can I become positive despite the fact I'll be quitting this job in three to six months anyways (i'm moving outta state).

Keep an eye on your goals. This is just a step on the ladder. Try to give your coworkers the impression you are a happy and positive person. Tell yourself it's your job to do this. Pretend if you have to while you are at work. List 3 good things to be happy about each day. The time will pass quickly if you focus on the good things.

In a situation such as yours,
where you are looking at a temporary situation - be it a day or a year -
consider going in to work with the frame of mind that during your lifetime you will meet many people
you will work in a number of places and situations
and you will do numerous tasks, mundane or exciting.

Today is one of those days - in one of those jobs - and this day done well will prepare your skills (in some way) for what is ahead of you.

If nothing else, try your best to
meet someone interesting
learn something new
or to make a difference in someone's life.

Yes, even having a clean toilet can make a difference in a person's life!

You need to realize how this new job will help your future job. Get involved in projects at work that would educate you on future projects you might want to do. Use this time to learn and experience within your current job.

Sounds like you have short timers syndrome! Like they told us in the Corps. "Motivation, if you don't have it, fake it"

It really works wonders.
