Here is what is going on, I'm a college student and about to graduate. I have a fiance and apartment and I pay most of the bills, the thing is we have a car, but her job requires have the care majority of the time. This is a problem because in the place we live there are no real good jobs, so i need transportation to find a job in another city and to do the things I need to get done.

Key things:
I need a vehicle between 1000-5000
I live in NC
My credit is not that great.

Buy a Honda. A Honda never dies, and repairs are minimal. I have bought two Honda's (CRV's). Nothing has ever gone wrong with them. Trust me on this one.

Buying a car in taht price range, you need to be careful. Before you buy it, have a mechanic inspect the car and let you know if there is anything wrong with it. It may cost a few bucks, but it could be a lot cheaper in the long run.
