I have two websites with links for you to check out on places
in different Oregon locations to check.
www.TravelOregon.com/
www.OregonVisitorsBureau.com
I already checked by Googling as you could have also. But
I've made it a tad easier for you.
Oregon is one of the most diverse areas for having fun in the
great outdoors. What better time to come and play but
summer?
There was the Enchanted Forest, south of Portland. But I
think it's been sold and renamed. There's Oaks Park in
SE Portland along the Willamette River. And it should be
open now, if it's still in operation. We don't have any big
amusement parks up here anymore. I'm surprised there
isn't. When I was young, Jantzen Beach amusement park
was the biggie in Oregon. But it's a shopping mall now in
N. Portland at Jantzen Beach.
You can also pick up a Sunday edition of the Oregonian
at the main library near you for checking out the advertisements on things to do in the Portland area. But the
web sites I provided will more than get you started for
people to send you info.
We've got some of the prettiest beaches along the Pacific
Ocean that you will have to visit. Lincoln City for several
small beach towns that now comprise one town. And also
up north of that, is Cannon Beach, a New England style
village that is the jewell of the coast line. Along the southern
strip of the coast line, you'll find Florence, and south of it,
the Sea Lion Caves. Where you'll find mamoth sea lions in
their natural habitat. You go down in an elevator into their
cave and hear and see them fairly close and watch them
dive and play. This is the time of Oregons' heavier tourism,
so be careful on the freeways and please enjoy your stay.
