Since you indicate you want to go BACK to college, we can assume you have some college. Depending on how much would be the first step in answering the question. If it is less than 60 units (semester) then go to your local community college (CC). You will want to understand the admissions requirements for your local Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program. Focus in your CC on taking the courses that will meet both General Education (GE) requirements and prerequisites for BSW. You probably will not be able to take more than one or two courses a semester if you are working full time.
As for financial aid, in order to get any grants or scholarships you usually have to go to school full time, so unless you are willing to do this you are more limited in the aid you can get. Your local CC can be a great source of information and support here. There are many grants and sources of aid and you may be ellgible based on your background and experience.

Call the school of your choice and talk to the admissions department. They will walk you through the whole admissions process and help you set up your financial aid. You really can do it. I worked full time, went to school part time, and raised three kids. I was a single mom, too. It's hard work, but it's worth it. I was in my 40's when I went to school. It doesn't get easier as you get older! Call the school you're thinking about right away and get an appointment with admissions. The financial aid is there. You can do this!

Do some research in your local area and state for specific scholarships and grants that you can apply for individually. Next step would be going to the college that you're looking at and filling out all the financial aid forms they give you, like the FASFA, and ask about any individual scholarships the school offers.
There is alot of money out there for school, for the most part financial aid offices of colleges are trained and very knowledgable on the grants and their eligibility.

First, make sure you are going into a field that you will be able to find a job in..that can be the worst thing to have happen. After that...Just fill out FASFA and You can search for grants online, talk to your perspective school guidance counselor, they can also lead you in the right direction with Grants. Allow for enough money to cover all school. If you have to after FASFA is done, take out the student loan. Make sure you get enough to cover all your expenses...books. So you are not in a lerch. Student loans are not to be paid back until 6months after graduation.
I have been going to school full-time and working a 9-5 now my entire college career. Its hard, but it has been worth it!

Talk to a counselor at your local community college. I'm sure you can get financial assistance. And a lot of schools now offer online and televised courses to fit your very busy schedule. There are a lot more options in obtaining a higher education nowadays. Good luck with your studies!

I'm so glad your interested in going back to college. I know you can do it as my daughter at your age with a small child did it 8 years ago. She got her degree in business and now has a great job! Please go to the college you plan on attending and they will help you. I'm almost positive you may be able to get some grants and financial aid. Good Luck!

For studies there is no age so you must start your studies. For social work without money you can contact some social club like lions or rotary and tell them to use your mental ability in there social work.
