There are many 'gods' and many 'lords' but only one Almighty God. When Jesus came to earth 2,000 years ago he said he was the Son of God - Immanuel - God with us. Jesus said he was the way, the truth and the light and that no-one could come to the Father except through him.
That is why Christianity claims, without apology or excuse, that the only way to worship Almighty God is through Jesus.

We cannot say what the one true religion is because we have different beliefs so one person might believe in a certain thing while the other might say it's wrong. Our uniqueness makes it hard for all of us to believe in one thing. Not every religion is perfect, each religion has it's good and bad points. For example I could say that there should not be arguments about religion because this creates chaos. On the other hand,
my friend could say if there is no arguments or different opinions how would different religions have been created because everyone should have a say or else how are we going to show each one of us are unique.
I am Catholic aswell but what Eds said about man made creeds, isn't the Bible written by us human beings. Also do you follow the message behind the readings or the reading itself??? Because I think the message behind the readings is more important. I know you people might give thumbs down for not defending my faith but I like to keep an open mind on everything and I want to be fair on everyone.

Well, I have a general philosophy, but I know it won't be popular in this forum or to most Christians. If you look at all of the major religions, besides Hinduism, they have one thing in common. They all believe in the same God - whether he's called Allah, God, or Jehovah - they are all the same. That's why I find it ironic that no one seems to be able to get along. We all believe in the same God. It's the details that are just slightly different.
My philosophy is that there isn't one TRUE religion. There is no ultimate right or wrong. All religions have truth in them and are valid to those who believe in them. The religion you accept is dependent on geography more than anything. Should a person born in a small village in Africa be punished because he or she may live their whole life not hearing specifically about Christianity? Will a Muslim "go to hell" because he didn't profess Jesus as the son of God instead of just a great prophet? My idea of God is greater than any one religion and I believe our own vanity and pride limits God in our own minds. He is not limited to western Europe and America and it's very vain to think otherwise.

Islam is the correct religion. The Bible, The Torah and many other Holy Books have been changed from there original form. So many words have been changed in the Bible and such while the Quran (Muslim Holy Book) has not been changed at all!
Sure you can write one verse of your own from the Bible or the Torah, but try writing a verse of your own from the Quran. One that actually makes sense and is written in Arabic (Text of the Quran). Everybody who has tried, has failed. That's because it was sent down by Allah (SWT) -- The Muslim God and NOT ONE PERSON has ever developed another copy of there own from the Quran. Not even one line!
You see Christians and Catholics believe that there is a Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. First of all Jesus is not the Son of God! If God had a son, do you really think he'd let him die? And Three Persons cannot ever become one! Also, if you ask any Catholic, What's the Holy Spirit, they can't even explain one bit of what it is. Islam is just such a pure religion while Christians and Catholics disobey there religion's rules everyday!
Read online about Islam and the last Prophet, Muhammed (PBUH) -- He's our last Prophet in Islam.

Valid for their *folk* . . . not for other cultures. Every people group, every ancient race, at one time had its own pantheon of godh/esses, traditions, folkways, thews, myths, and sacred wisdom which arose from within its people and was considered "true" for them ALONE.
Other peoples had *other* ways, but those were THEIR ways. One might be polite, yes, and participate in the local cult while there trading, or serving in the Roman Legions, or what have you, but returned home to the ways of one's own Folk eventually.
The problems so many have with religion in general are solely and completely attributable to the insistence of xianity, a derivative of a monotheistic Middle Eastern folk religion, that it is the ONE TRUE WAY™ for everyone.

All religions are based on a founding master. The people who follow him or her picked up on this, wrote a book and other people followed. It became a religion based not on the founder but on the followers interpritations of what the master said and did. Since they cannot do or say what he or she did they are not masters. So to anwser your question all are valid. All the masters said the same thing really. And what did they say......Love is all

Jesus established a church, not a religion. That Church was established in 33AD. Jesus placed this church into Peter's hands and left the naming of that church up to Peter. That church has been around for over 2000 years and that church is the Catholic Church. There is only one church and all the different denominations broke off from the true church. The 30,000 denominations of Protestants all stem from Martin Luther who left the Catholic Church.

The followers of all the different religions believe that the one they follow is the most valid. You won't get an unbiased answer on this one.

In my opinion, there is no true religion. Only a religion that is true for an individual.

I think one needs to remain open-minded and research various religions to find one that feels right within himself or herself.
Many people feel there are hundreds of religions but only one God. The God of Christianity is the God of Buddhism, etc.
I personally believe in God, a spirituality that leads me to stay close to God, respect God and fear God insomuch that I try to live a life respectful of God and all of creation. When I flub up as all humans do, I feel a forgiveness when I seek it that stems from being close to God.
My spiritual life is not better or worse than anyone elses. It's basically a deep and abiding relationship with God more than a religion.
