The "big bang" theory and the specific creation of Adam and Eve are not mutually exclusive. Please visit the website of this Christian astrophysicist who believes in the big bang, as a specific act of creation, but also believes the Genesis account of the creation of Adam and Eve to be true and scientifically defensible.

The Creationism vs Evolutionism debate has obscured people's perspective of much greater and more inclusive possibilities. There is no reason why a supreme creative force could not have done all of is, instead of one or the other. The Urantia Book gives an account of Adam and Eve as being two equally created divine emissaries that were created elsewhere and sent to earth to serve the upliftment of an already existing human species that evolved here. It is an interesting take because it is so different than the biblical account. I think that the biblical notion that Adam and Eve were the first human beings, and that all of us came from them discredits the whole story and seems pretty much impossible to me. Even if you want to believe that the Bible is the ultimate truth, then why does it say that Cain when off to some other village and took a wife. Where did this other village come from, and what was the heritage of his wife? The Urantia Book explains this in great detail, though personally I don't just accept something unless it has come to me through divine revelation, or has been confirmed for me in some way. I am fortunate that such questions don't concern me, because I received revelation concerning these things long ago. The 'creation event' that scientist call the big bang has not been accurately described by science at all, and until that matter is cleared up, our relationship to the Creator will not be clear. Adam and Eve were a gift to humanity because they had superior DNA and were meant to create a vast family of advanced humans who would mix with the native populations to procreate a new and more advanced human race, but their plans were thwarted by corrupt forces and miscarried. That is why Christ came, because the plan for this little world was way off track and needed a major adjustment, from a certain point of view. What we are about to discover both scientifically and spiritually on Earth is that the universe is a hologram and we are all holographic beings, cocreating with a unified field of consciousness that is generated by a Source that is within us. Crazy huh? That will clear up a lot once we realize the holographic nature of things, and the fact that we can create our own reality.

Usually Adam & Eve are compared against Evolution, not the Big Bang. It would seem more accurate to contrast the Big Bang against God's "Let there be light" statement.

I am fairly sure that the Adam & Eve story is 99.99999% false, (there may be a grain of truth in every myth). There is a ton of evidence supporting evolution over creationism.

There is a good bit of evidence supporting the Big Bang theory as well. However, I'm uncomfortable with the Big Bang theory. While we can actually see the mechanisms of evolution in operation, the cause and process of the Big Bang can't really be studied or reproduced. I have to respect the data and theoretical work, but I have nagging feeling that we'll eventually find evidence that the Big Bang theory isn't correct.

I kind of suspect that the universe has always existed and never had a real "beginning". There are probably lots of little "big-bangs" that take place from time to time in different parts of the universe. Of course, that's just my opinion, I can't say it is a real hypothesis or anything, (and definitely not a theory).

Why couldn't there be both? But there's no evidence that Adam & Eve is anything other than a nice myth. There is, however, scientific evidence for Big Bang theory.

Adam and Eve and the big bang are not conflicting theories. Ones the creation of life on earth the other is the creation of the universe. So I'm gonna go w/ this;
A creator went bang, picked a planet, and tinkered w/ it until we got here. And will continue to do so long after we are gone.

The Big Bang. Adam & Eve is a fairytale. Science has produced evidence of the Big Bang. There is no evidence for Adam & Eve - in fact, there is evidence against it.

Big Bang has infinite more evidence supporting it then Adam & Eve could ever hope for

Adam and Eve are a cute little story with no backing.

The Big Bang is a excellent scientific model that is the best explanation of the data that we have to date.

Big bang because if they think of it...

How could Adam and Eve give birth to so many different races?!

its good to have faith, but facts are that the big bang is the most backed up theory, do some research on it, it is quite interesting, but truth is adam and eve never happened its like santa clause, but good to keep your religion but dont become crazy with it because religion starts war, all religions were once a cult and everyone hates cults, religion is overrated live in the real world
