What is the likelihood of acquiring disability for chronic debilitating migraine headaches? I am just curious. I have chronic migraines and it has been suggested to me more than once as an option, but I'm not sure whether or not to go for it.

Ashley,

If your doctors are behind you on this, your chances are good -- far better than they used to be. It's not unusual to be denied on the first try, but that happens with lots of health issues. Be sure that you and your doctors don't call your Migraines "headaches." Refer to Migraine attacks and Migraine disease. Migraine IS a potentially debilitating disease.

Good luck!

I would go to your doctor and talk to him/her about the situation and see if he/she would recommend disability.

If a guy in Sweden can get disability for being addicted to heavy metal music (true story), then anything goes.

I've seen people get it for waaay less than that. So go for it.
