Those who are Christians, you know what saved means. Those who are a little confused, that is to be devoted to the teachings of Jesus and to give your life completely to God. Also it is to believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and to be risen on the third day. I want to know which is it that you must DO and what part of Christianity do you practice (Baptist, Methodist, Pentacostal, etc)?

Just what Scripture says: "Believe and be baptized".

Traditional Anglican Priest.

And salvation is a "process" - not an event.

The Bible says to believe on our Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. In other words, you must believe that He came to earth and paid the price (death) for your sins. Can you imagine something as great as this? It really is awesome when you stop to think about it! To follow Christ's examples is the ultimate journey through life. I am Baptist.

as a rule via fact it particularly is a command of the Lord: He that believeth and is baptized would be saved; yet he that believeth not would be damned. Mark sixteen:sixteen Does that reference sound only approximately conventional? this is via fact this is immediately after yet another super command of the Lord: And he stated unto them, go ye into all the international, and pontificate the gospel to each creature. The Lord's version of salvation maintains almost with out even a breath between the statements. the classic church homes recognize the seen a martyr's dying being a baptism -- baptism in one's very own blood. The penitent thief is to that end seen to have been baptized. Baptism is the Church's ceremony of initiation into the kin; it replaced circumcision for Christianity. this is not purely "an outward sign of an inward paintings" -- inspite of the indisputable fact that it particularly is that -- yet is Christ's Church formally accepting you into itself. there are dissimilar references to baptism being particularly instant, and related to the salvation of the believer. there is nowhere a connection with Christian water baptism separated from the designation that one is a believer. Forgive me. /Orthodox

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved."

Romans defines what is entailed in a belief that saves in chapter 10 verse 9 where it says essentially, "if you believe with your heart that Jesus is Lord and confess with your mouth that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

In other words, saving belief includes surrendering (Jesus being Lord) since there is a type of belief that doesn't save as evidenced in the verse that says, "even the demons believe and tremble."

Oh, & I'm generally of the Reformed Baptist persuasion.

The thief on the cross showed in a simple way what really needs to be done. Please read this passage Luke 23:39-44

39One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!"

40But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? 41We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."

42Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.[a]"

43Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

First, he recognized he was under God's judgment. Second, he admitted his own guilt. Third, he believed Jesus was who He said, and had done nothing wrong. Fifth, he acknowledged Jesus' place in Heaven and believed it would be through Him that he would be saved.

Jesus then promised him that he would be with Him in paradise. Salvation comes this way, afterwards, we continue in the Faith and learn more, but this is how salvation is granted through faith.

Those who believe in Jesus and Bible are believers and not Christians.
The best thing to DO is meditate. This is what all saints have done to gain energy for Miracles. But be unselfishly helpful. The best religion is, 'do not hate anyone'.
Thus the realized self will have salvation.

Dear yamsleepy,

The Bible says, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;" God also says in Ephesians 2:8, 9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast."

We also read in Galatians 2:16 "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."

To believe in Jesus. To believe is gift from God and the DO part is to give your life over to Him and He will guide your paths.
