Dear ballaerina,
God says this: "And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him."

I'm not christian but there should be separation of church and state. The reason being that not everyone in the US is a Christian. Religion and politics should be separate things. Of course people vote for candidates because they admire or have the same beliefs as themselves but that should not be the only reason and we should also not be forced to believe or have rules based on religion but on morals and what is right.

Yes. I do believe there should be separation between church and state. No one should be told what to believe where matters of faith are concerned. I have no problem with that. In some cases though, separation of church and state is used as a mask for militant anti-Christianity. That, I have a problem with.

Yes I do, and I know its not typical of a Christian to want that because many would like the church to be able to tell the state what to do. But, it works both ways, if we dont have the sepperation, the state would also be allowed to tell the church what to do. This wouldnt work at all and could very likely start another civil war. Just as an example... if doesnt want to allow same sex marriage, and the state wants to... who decides? it would definitely bring forth a war between church and state and no one wants that.

Yes, in the original intent that the church does not run the state and the state does not control the church.
However in is impossible not to mention impractical for each to influence each other. one not controlling the other is all the founding fathers intended, after all this country was founded as "one nation under god".
Who cares if a local religion is running classes in a public school because their nearby building burned down. it's not hurting anyone and neither the state or church are controlling each other.
BTW, the term "separation between church and state" does not exist in the constitution. Why? because, there is no way to separate a religious upbringing to form a completely secular opinion. Our country was not founded under secularism, but God.

For Sure, -- In no way should the state establish/control
any religious endeavor, nor should the state control or
guide religious activity in any public or private setting.
No should the state be anything but neutral in the religious
standings of persons employed by the state.

Absolutely. I'm a Christian, and have been a longtime advocate of the separation of church and state. When church and state combine, the results have been historically disastrous.

No, I don't believe that is the answer. We were made to be in unison..what separates the church from the state is the Goverment..the need to be in control of how we live and think..that my friend is what happens when truth is put aside and lies is created to be the truth...thats how the Goverment keeps us separate...one can easily resolve this by embracing the truth no matter what, no matter what the cost...the first amendment is freedom of speech, but, again even that has been divided, to suit the lies and not the truth..

Yes & No. Should Religion Control Govt.??? NOT!!! Should Govt' Control Religion??? NOT!!! It is this Thinking of our Forefathers that has given Us the System of Government & Various Religious Systems we have Today. Our or Any Other Government has to have a "Basis" or "Authority" or "Principals" by which it is "Established / Founded". Our Forefathers decided to use the "Judeao / Christian" God & the Biblical Principals upon which to "Establish" our Government upon the One True God of the Bible. Today however Radicals such as the ACLU, ex Madeline Murray O'Hare, Gays etc. are Trying to Circumvent the "Established Government" (OVERTHROW IT) so that it places THEM FIRST ABOVE THE AUTHOR OF OUR FREEDOM GOD!!! this is PURE EVIL to say nothing of TREASONOUS!!! Definitely. The only theocracy I would support is one under Christ himself. But anytime church and government mixes, one will control the other, and bad things will result. Politics corrupt enough people, but when religion enters the subject they claim divine right.
"I am the President because God says so, and my word is God's word, my law is God's law"
It is the same thing kings did long ago.
