I asked a question yesterday and part of the question was 'do you consider Mormons and JW's christians' and someone answered that they worship a different Jesus.

Can someone explain that?

Wow crazy.
The reason you heard this thing about how Mormons worship a different Christ is because of the people who have posted thus far. They have no idea of what any member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints believes. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who came to earth to suffer for and redeem all mankind. He was crucified and arose the third day.
Our first article of faith reads:
We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
The Father is God, the Son is God, the Holy Ghost is God.
The confusion comes from the ignorance of others who don't listen to what is being said then turn around and think they're experts on the subject.

Joseph Smith's "revelation" taught that Jesus was a human being, a creation of God who made good and is now a god himself. It is the stated intent of all good Mormons to follow his example (in accordance with the strictures laid down by their Book of Mormon and their "Prophet") so that in time they too might become gods and rule over their own worlds just as Jesus rules over this one.

Christians, by definition, believe that the Jewish carpenter from Nazareth; Yeshua bar Youssef, Jesus of Nazareth is fully human via his human mother, Mary and fully divine via the Holy Spirit, ie, true Man AND true God, two natures (human and divine in one Person, the 2nd Person of the Blessed Trinity). If you do not accept this as written, then you are by definition, NOT a Christian. You can call yourself one, but you ain't! Any more than calling a skunk cabbage a rose will make its scent sweet.

A Christian believes that Jesus is God. This is the true Jesus. Neither Mormons or JW's believe this so the "jesus" that they follow is not the one of the Bible. It is one that they have made up in their minds.

The real Jesus is the one revealed in the Holy Bible.
"A different Jesus" is a reference to a Bible verse that speaks directly about people that make a jesus that they would rather have.
Put another way, they do not want the real Jesus, so they make Him into what they want him to be.
In short, not the REAL Jesus as revealed in the Holy Bible.
Both of those groups you have named use texts that are either theologically messed up by their "interpreters" or made up by a mere human being.
Of course, they'll tell you differently.

yes.

christians worship Jesus Christ, son of God.
God...Jesus...Holy Spirit....Three in One.

Mormons believe that Jesus existed...but they do not believe He is God. They believe that He is a prophet, just like any other prophet...nothing really special. Their beliefs are changing however b/c i see commercials at Christmas and Easter with the same sort of message that christians send out on those holidays....another sign of a cult...changing beliefs.

JW's also believe that Jesus was the son of God, but that we're all children of God...therefore that they are equal to Jesus.
a little askew believing. They don't worship Jesus but they do think He was a pretty good guy.

It has to do with Christology .The beliefs of the Mormons & JW's regarding the person of Christ are antithetical to the beliefs of historic Christianity. Thus, the "Christ" that they believe in isn't the Christ of Scripture. Rather, it's "another" Christ - or, a false Christ.

Jesus said many false Christ's would arise. This would be just one example of that.

the so called jesus or messiah was a title given to anyone who rebelled against the romans. this meant that several attempts were made before the jesus of the new testament became popular and stuck.

They don't consider Jesus to be divine, just a man or a prophet. Mainstream Christianity considers Him to be both human and divine. This is known as the hyperstatic union.
