Tell them this Punisher.
Our military punishes such atrocities as killing innocents, their insurgency and terrorist cells reward such atrocities.
The day we start rewarding atrocities, THEN, they can see us as the bad guys. We have entire teams devoted to ensuring civilian losses are reduced, they (terrorists) feed on civilian losses, the more civilians that die, the better they look and the more butts they can fill in their mosques. They are master propagandists.

People want to have someone to blame. I just returned from iraq. We are not out there slaughtering women and children.
has it happened? of course, but it also happens with civilians killing woman and children in the united states.
And the civilians who are doing it are not under the stress that a servicemember is. Put a servicemember in combat for 12 months and seeing death everyday, then have a little child walk around the corner holding something that resembles a gun, of course the soldier will shoot.
its a harsh world. War is hell, people die. its unfortunate, but it has been society for the past 4000 years. Society still presses on, it will now adays as well.

All the Liberals? That group of people sure is large, I doubt you had time to talk to all of them. The ones that called our troops monsters are monsters themselves and have no character. I believe that Americans in general are just tired of war and are not against the troops. As far as the world goes you can try to explain this in two ways, the first reason is that we are the big guy on the block and no one likes that, the second reason may be that we are everywhere and that scares many people in the world.

Because the military ARE murderers and torturers. But the murdering and torturing is ordered by the supreme command. Just look at Abu Ghraib and Guatanamo. The european generals in Afghanistan agree that the war cant be won if the US army treats the locals as subhumans and completely disregards their right to live.

Did I read that right?
"..(on a large scale). "
Oh that makes it all OK then - only killing innocent women and childen (your words) on a small scale.
Perhaps the US forces became unpopular when they adopted the German way of warfare from WW2.
They are supposed to be professional soldiers - they are not supposed to behave like the very terrorists that all decent people of whatever race or religion abhor - they are not supposed to act like the very people they are supposed to be defending society from.
Think about it before you press the button you gung-ho "thumbs-downers." Do you really want the "army of the free" to be regarded as no better than terrorists?
New Generals required!

Funny how terrorists are called freedom fighters elsewhere. We call them terrorist. What do you think 'they' call US Army Rangers, Special Forces, Seals, etc whose purpose is to blow up bridges and buildings occupied or not or snipe out 'unwanted' targets? They knocked down a couple buildings. Yeah, and US troops have murdered tens of thousands and knocked down thousands of structures irregardless if women and children were in them. We dont STFU because your job involves murder and we aren't going to sit by and let you be like the Nazi death camp gaurds whose defense was 'we were only following orders and doing our jobs'

The media has done a great job of their war against the military and this administration. I haven't heard any liberal in my sphere talk ill of our soldiers, so you must be referring to the far fringe left. I would not take kindly to anyone talking ill of our military in my presence. I agree, they can all STFU in my opinion too.

Ask Kerry. He had a good speech to Congress on our military doing terrible things in Vietnam.
I guess he needed some Massachusetts Lib votes or something.
And then there's Durbin comparing our troops to Communists, nazis and PolPot.
And Kerry saying our troops terrorize Iraqis in the night.
Or saying if you don't get a college education you'll end up stuck in Iraq.

Because they are ignorant morons. I wish I was wrong about this, but I cannot see any other rational explanation.
The U.S. troops are very respectable and should be supported by all Americans and non-Americans who also favor the spread of freedom and democracy.
