I am from Utah. I know of Mormonism. But do not understand your question. What is it that you're seeking?
My brother be proud of your Cherokee heritage. I wished ( I am European decent), that America would have been kinder to the Indian Nation. I wished they had let you all live on the Land. Cause there is plenty of land. Instead they put you on reservations. I have many Native American Indian friends. I love m dearly. I too play my drum when I am in a sad mood. It helps lift the spirit. So what is your actuall question my friend?

The Sorenson Genetic Center can do DNA testing for a nominal charge, if it's Cherokee lineage confirmation you want.

Getting Geneological data from the church is also pretty easy, but even as late as the 1900s, Indian tribal families are not recorded in any detail. My wife's aunt relates a story of one of her maternal grandmothers was simply refered to as 'Annie', and this was common name given by anglos to Indian 'brides' as they moved into the plains.

In Tennessee, there are some Cherokee organizations that may also be able to assist you:

From what I understand, because they do heritage tracings in order to baptize their ancestors, they have the most stunning collections of lineages... so it's usually the site most recommended for people trying to find out their ancestry.

Yes, very true...they have a vast library...they will even let you use their
computers to check it out...I did this several years ago...and could not go back any further than the 1600's...with their help I went
back to 1252...which I think is amazing...
Go for it...

i don't much about the Mormon culture/heritage, but God excepts all people as his children and he will never leave you. seeking God as a refuge is one thing i will never regret.
