That all depends on you situation. Did you drop out of highschool to go to work, have a kid, or were you to busy partying?

If you are finacally stable and don't have anyone depending on you (ie. children or family) to bring home a pay check than enroll yourself in a four year school. If you spent more time partying and less time studying in highschool than a community college might be the way to go for a year or two until you finish your core classes and bring up your grades.

Just remember there is a way to do anything. You can go from being a high school drop out to a doctor if you wish you just have to remember there is a ton of work ahead for you, just like everyone else.

Good Luck!

Do what you can to further your education. Possibly finding a technical school doing something that you enjoy. Examples are car/diesel mechanic, management courses.

Don't let the stigma of fast food deter you also. While the entry level positions can sometimes suck if you stick to it you can usually move up pretty fast to shift managers, asst. mgr, store mgr. I have a friend you started while in high school at a McDonalds and moved up through the ranks like I described above and now works in corporate headquarters. There are more jobs in fast food then just cooking and taking orders and once you can get your foot inside a major corporation you can, with hard work excel.
Good luck!

If you are on your own get a student loan or grant to help you get through a 1 or 2 year training course. Medical secretary, etc. This will make you employable. Then you can work and enroll in a few classes at a college or university. Keep going to school though...if you wait you may never go! Good luck!

Apply to the college of your choice. Even though you received a GED, this should not prevent you from furthering your educational dreams if you like. Make sure that the college you apply to does not require any additional studies or courses from you. I wish you all the best.
