It was 40 days between the Resurrection and the Ascension of Jesus. Then it was another 9 days (thus the creation of the novena) until the Coming of the Holy spirit or Pentecost.

Don't be fooled by the '40 days' answers. In olden days '40' just meant a heck of a lot, not a precise number.

Back to your question. Since both are fantasy, it's entirely up to you to make up a number.

Which you can clearly see in the book of Acts chapter one.

Those who claim its not there have not read it.

To get the context you really should read the whole chapter but the key verse is Acts chapter 1, verse 3.
