Well, immigration in and of itself is not a bad thing for our nation. First of all since we have low unemployment then that means that companies need workers. Also, due to economic and many other factors the sizes of families have also diminished so we need more people and if you do not birth them you have to import them. Illegal immigration is the problem for the United States, because legal immigration can be controlled.
Illegal immigration is the problem that is creating a lot of crime and eating up resources that could be used for the citizenry of the United States. Health care costs are but one example of this drain on our society.

Immigration in the United States has been met with mixed results, but I believe it can’t be abandoned. We are a nation of immigrant that has rose from predominantly white farmers to a wide range of diverse people who are at the economic top. The immigration in the United States has brought us some of our best and brightest, but we also have been brought criminals. If we stop immigration then what does that say about us as a country?

Immigration is bad for the United States only when the immigrants do not begin to think of themselves as Americans.
I always encourage respecting and remembering the culture from the "old country", but when people try to recreate small sections of America so that they are just like the old country then I ask, "why did you leave if you just wanted to bring it here?".

I always look at immigration as a good thing because immigrants bring new life to a country. If it wasn't for past immigrants the United States certainly wouldn't be what it is today.

I am seeing alot of negatives these days. COorporation is using immigrants, legal and other wise to leverage lower wages and diminish workers rights . They would freeze the pay so people are not interested in the job and demand the US bring in immigrants to work these jobs. They treat immigrants as property. If tehy are unwilling to be abused and help cover up the illegal activities of the company the company would revoke their Visas. The professional that immigrate here are also tend to be inferior, becasue their education is inferior to the Americans. It's problematic, because the medical industry is highly dependent on foreigners fot their staffing and it's known that many of them cheat their way to get their license. Having underqualified individual working in the Hospitals endangers lives.
Edit>>>
SOme how the proside got lost.
In the past we encourage the smartest to immigrate here which makes our country the most innovative. Also we encourage the rich to move here so their funds can help spur our economy and create jobs.

Immigration has always been good to any country. It usually drives the economy up.
Illegal immigration isn't so good though, unless you ask someone who employs an illegal at $2 an hour, instead of paying an legal american $15 an hour

Immigration can helps all countries. By getting more people into our country we get more workers, more people to spend money, mor bussiness created, and more money going to the government. However on the downside to this right now is that we have a lot of unemployment, so having more people come into the country is putting the hurt on a lot of people. Especially if the immigrates work for very little.

Are you talking about immigrants who will mow our lawns or immigrants who will run our corporations. The advantage and disadvantages issues are different from person to person.
