i fell asleep with the tv on twice this week, and my step dad gets SOO pissed off as if i was doing this on purpose. i dont even mean to do this, its an accident. now he took my ps3 away for the 2nd time for something that was an accident.
lets say if you fell asleep with the tv on like couple of times, would you want your parent taking a valuable stuff away from you? do you think that is fair?

Ok first off if he asked you not to do it again and you did then it's your fault and you've got no one to blame but yourself for not setting the sleep timer on the TV when you start getting tired. While his consequences may be a little harsh, you did disobey him. An accident is when you trip and fall, disobedience is when you're too lazy to push a button and turn off the TV and take yourself upstairs to bed. It's not that big of a deal.

Consider that your Dad pays for that TV, that PS3, and the electricity to run both. The least you can do is conserve energy and turn them off when you're not using them.

I'm sorry but that's stupid! Your step dad needs to get over it. I sleep with the TV on on purpose because it helps me fall asleep. If it's that big of a deal to him then he just shouldn't let you have a TV. But I have a solution to your problem! If you think or know you are going to fall asleep, set the sleep timer. Then you won't ever have to worry about getting in trouble and having your things taken away again! God luck!

maybe he's cheap and doesn't want to spend the extra twenty-five cents it costs to keep the TV on while you are asleep.

perhaps turn TV off when you feel you're getting sleepy -- does the TV have a sleep timer? if so, use it?

we aren't here to be "fair" ... it's his house i'm assuming, so you have to live by his rules until further notice.

take care.

thats insane!! for one an accident is one thing and purposely is another. i will agree, parents are a little nutzo when it comes to that stuff. [experiance] itll fade eventually. but seriously thats really lame. lol my advice. just try your hardest not to do it again. and do something around the house to make them realize your responsible enough to have your ps3 back.

i know how you feel but just to avoid any more problems that can turn into grudges just turn the tv off before you go to bed
