It depends on the cat. If your cat is a nibbler, then it pry won't need a whole lot. If it is more of a ferocious eater, then it will need more.
I think the 3 lbs of cat food for a week will be just fine. Far as water goes you can get maybe a cookie pan or buy a big watering dish (the kind that you pour the water inside it and it waters itself).
Also if you can, you can hire or have someone volunteer to babysit or at least check on your kitty.

a week is a very long time to leave a cat home alone with nobody to check on him.
I would get a neighbor to come in once a day and feed the cat, clean the litter, and get fresh water. Or find someplace to kennel the cat.
As for water, even if you think you leave enough, water dishes can be tipped, water evaporates, go weird , leaving your cat with no water to drink.
As for leaving him alone, your cat will be lonely, might get into something dangerous, like knock over a shelf and get hurt, or eat some string, and choke to death. You just don't know unless someone will come in and check on him.
Please don't leave your cat home alone for that period of time - to many bad things can happen!

I would suggest having family or a trusted friend feed the cat. Kitty may not seem like a glutton, but I know a lot of cats that would eat as much as he could and fall ill. Good luck! ;)

Fill up three or four water bowls and make sure they can't tip over. He'll need two litter boxes, in case the first gets too full he should have a spare.

nevertheless kittens could get maximum of their meals from nursing till around 5 or 6 weeks, at 3 weeks kittens are waiting to start up ingesting softened meals so it is recommended to function some water to mom's dish to make certain it won't harm his milk the teeth. greater effective yet, make moist kitten meals available.

It all depends on the cat, if I were you I would evaluate how much he/she eats and drinks within 1 week and just leave out that amount and some extra.
