Okay, I'm 19, 5'6" and about 145. I used to weigh 125-130 and i LOVED the way my body looked and felt at that weight. WELL thanks to marriage (which it's great) and moving to a new town where i had to try to meet all new people and got depressed because it's hard and i've lived in the same town my whole life and then just upped and moved i gained about 15-20LBs. My body type is big hips, butt and thighs. So when i gain weight it goes mostly to those places. I'm so upset about the way my body looks i cry because i look at all my pictures from about a year ago and miss it so bad! SAD I KNOW! I bought a pilates work out dvd, which is really hard btw and then i bought some resistance bands. Never have done either... I need some advice on what i should be doing. i don't have the money right now to get a gym membership thats why i bought a few things. I just need some ideas on what to do. like exersices, diet pills?, recomended dvds anything!
please help me.

Do not get all worked up. What goes on CAN come off. It just takes hard work and focus!!!
You do not need a gym to get into shape.
First you need to watch your diet. If you are depressed you might be turning to food to comfort you. Instead, get up and get moving. Go for a walk.. a hike... even a jog. Clean the house.. dance around like a crazy women! Anything that gets your heart rate up!!!

Diet Suggestions: I will keep this simple since you are on a tight budget. Pay attention to fat, sugar and sodium. Example: Hot dogs vs. turkey dogs (turkey dogs are not much more expensive and a lot healthier) Macaroni & Cheese (chose the 2% reduced fat version, about the same price and healthier) Cut out soda/sugary drinks and drink lots of water. If you can afford to eat even healthier... buy all lean meats.. fresh veggies.... fresh fruit... egg whites.... brown rice.... ect.

Diet: Cardio..... burns fat and calories. To drop the weight off your lower half you need to do a lot of cardio. Combine that with basic strength training... squats, lunges, toe raises, leg raises, jumping jacks, jumps, push ups, crunches.. grab some cans of soup and do bicep curls... do your pilates... use the resistance bands for your legs.

The options are endless! have fun with it... get creative.

Awwww! My heart goes out to you sister. I know what it's like to look at pix of the past and long for the "old body".
Think of it this way...you didn't gain the weight overnight and you will not lose it overnight. This might take time, but you have to persevere.
I would not suggest diet pills. Simple diet changes and exercise will work wonders...again, as long as you're patient.
Pilates is a great way to go for low-impact. Not every video is created equally. Might I suggest you find one with Ellen Barrett. Her videos are easy to follow for people of all fitness levels. I swear by her! :-)
You might also want to incorporate some cardio into your workout. If you have a bike, you may want to do that...if want to jog you can do that as well. Even a brisk-paced walking will work. Anything that will increase your heart rate is good. You don't have to do it every day, just 3 days per week for at least a half hour.
If you're not opposed to buying a few more things for your home workouts, might I suggest two things that are staples in my home: dumbells and a stability ball.
There are TONS of different workouts that you can do with both of these. Choose a set of free weights that is comfortable for you...like 5-8 lbs. You don't want them too heavy or too light. This will help you tone and the more lean muscle you create, the more it will help you burn the fat.
The ball is good not only for abs, but for the back, arms, and legs too! I hope this helps....
Good luck!

hey hun,
we are actually the same height and weight. Funny huh?
Well fiber helps a lot eat as much as you can and this sounds gross but you will crap everything out.
Stay away from:
salt
cheese
Soda even diet soda
pastas
white bread
and sugar.

Try:
water
green tea
if you like bread then a multi grain
fruits
vegtables lots of them
yogert

leg squats
sit ups
crunches

It wont take long to shed those lbs.
Just keep moving walk a lot, if you cant run
stand dont sit
coffee helps to black, no sugar.
small frequent meals to build your metabolism, you have to eat to lose weight it sucks but it's true.

Good luck
