Most of the time I cross at the knee,in a skirt or pants. The only time I cross my ankles is if my legs are sore or cramping up. Like after a workout. Other than that, at the knee.

well currently I'm sitting with my legs apart (lol), but there is a back panel to the desk so no one can see. I don't like crossing them over the knee when I'm wearing a skirt as it leaves a red patch on the back of the leg that's been crossed over, which takes ages to fade. If I'm in pants, I don't really care so long as I remain feminine. Skirts, I instinctively cross my legs at the knee, but have to consciously not do it, because, as I said, the red patch. But I'm always alert when I'm in a skirt. Probably why I usually wear trousers.
What makes you ask?

At the knee. But I think the proper way is to cross at the ankle if you're wearing a skirt.

Ankle. My legs are short. Therefore, crossing a leg over the other is very uncomfortable. It feels like I'm twisting my body. It doesn't really matter if I'm wearing a skirt or pants. I'm still short no matter what I wear.

The correct way is at the ankle. It does not matter if one is wearing a skirt or pants. Cross at the ankle only.

I prefer crossing mine at the knee if wearing pants and at the ankle if wearing a skirt. It also depends on if my legs can be seen by others, or if they are 'hidden' beneath a table.

I preffer crossing my legs at the knee, but the proper way for a lady to sit is crossing the legs at the ankles.

I find it more comfortable to cross them at the knee. I don't like crossing them at the ankle.
