If you need to talk to someone that's been through the same cycle, feel free to email me.
It's a hard cycle to break, but after I left HS, I broke it with a vengance.
The thing is, you need to be comfortable in your own skin. Get an understanding of those around you. Know your limits. Approach them a little at a time.
BTW...Just because you're quiet doesn't mean you'renot noticable. It may make you a little harder to approach, because people can't get a read on you.

The important thing is to start talking. Even mentioning something small in any conversation. So you have to start breaking that cycle with the Quiet part.
This doesn't mean be loud and talk to everyone, just feel comfortable with your ideas and beliefs, and express them to people.
So how can you start? Give compliments, whenever you are interested in a conversation get into it and give a small thought or something to that extent.
If your shy about talking to people start talking more online, with friends or even random strangers but just for one conversation, until you get accustomed to talking.
So on and so forth. Luck!

I'm sorry you're sad. I'm this way about getting female friends, now. However, I used to be this way with guys, too, until I met my now husband. When you do see someone you could be interested in just force yourself to smile. Do this until it comes naturally to you. Then work in "Hello's" and "How are you today's?" Eventually you'll be confident enough to have full conversations with guys you like. Don't forget that times have changed and girls can ask guys out. The worst thing he can say is no. But if you're confident it shows through and I bet you'll be getting Yes in no time.

STart doing, or chatting to someon so you can feel better within yourself, start buidling on your confidence and self estem. If you can feel good about yourself, then you will begin to act more confident, therefore taking the spot light and getting noticed. Dont go out your way to get noticed for the bad things, things will sort out, Im here if you want to chat

is there anyone you feel spontaneous/loud around? sometimes it's hard being in a group- maybe you're more of a one-on-one person. try just hanging out with one friend (?) then after you've become comfortable with that friend, try hanging out in a group with that friend and he/she will make you feel comfortable to talk up.
