sure, and have done a few times. The accident rate there is no higher than anywhere else, and certainly very much safer than Africa

Yes, I would fly in Brazil and have done many times, an aeroplane is still an aeroplane wherever in the world it is and at any time and at any location a crash can happen, be it because of bad weather, Pilot error or technical failure. Tam Airlines are in fact as with Gol, one of Brazils best airlines, they Fly International routes as well as all over Brazil ,the aircraft they use are modern Boeing and Airbus airliners.

I just feel that this latest air accident shows up the weaknesses in Brazils aviation system and Goverment needs to take real notice before there are even more devastating accidents with huge loss of lives, the infrastructure needs to be updated and fast as the country is booming economically.

I have flown to and from Brasil and taken many internal flights and never thought anything of it. I flew on a TAM aeroplane and landed on that exact runway in January and when I heard the news today I felt quite sick. 10 months ago there was a crash over the Amazon as well which I never heard about at the time and I also flew to the Amazon. Unless British/American people are on board these things never seem to be overly publicised which I think is shocking.

As Brasil is such a massive country air travel is imperative so I agree something HAS to be done. It is also such an amazing and beautiful country I hate to think people will steer cleat because of safety reasons.

I don't mind the flying, it's the landing that bugs me.

Having looked at the airport on Google Earth, I'm surprised they're allowed to operate there. Houses up to the fence. I know London City airfield is surrounded by buildings but there is a fair bit of water space around it.

Makes the noise complaints round here (Farnborough) look pathetic by comparison.

In a British serviced aircraft, yes. But thats true of every where else in the world. If its serviced and fixed to British standards then yes.
The recent crash was caused by extremely heavy rains and a lack of an alternate with better conditions. It was just bad luck that there was a massive fuel dump right in the path of a skidding airliner.
It was just a freak accident that would have happened anywhere with the same conditions and same layout.

Yes. This was a one off incident. Air travel in Brazil is actually pretty safe.

I've flown all over Brazil many times. No worries.

They really need to improve their Air Traffic Control, based on the Gol crash. I would be dis-inclined to fly there. Speaking as a private jet pilot. I don't presently fly to that part of the world, so not an issue for me personally.
