I can't believe people still think that your gun will shoot harder or farther with a higher PSI.
First of all, all guns should be chronoed below 300fps so everyone shoots the same.
Plus, a 3000psi or 4500psi tank releases air usually around 600-800psi because there is a regulator on there.
The advantage of a 4500psi tank over 3000psi tank is that it will hold 50% more shots. That means you dont have to refill it as often and you can essentially shoot more balls before your run out. Now, a lot of fields don't actually fill up to 4500psi, their compressor may only fill up to 3000psi, 3500psi, 4000psi but it's rare to go to field where it will fill all the way.
In any case, it is worth having a 4500psi tank over a 3000psi tank because it essentially means you can carry more air for the same size tank. Again, this is the one and only advantage..it won't make you shoot farther or harder.

The higher the psi, the further and harder and faster your shot is going to be. So someone with the 4500 psi tank will be able to potentially hit the person with the 3000 psi tank before that person can even get close enough to get a shot off. If you're playing in a small enough space, it will make little difference. In a bigger area, it can make ALL the difference.

Agreed, the air goes alittle longer due to higher compacity.
I run a 45/45 and sometimes a 68/45.
