Hi,
It just struck me that when I keep a stuff in fridge, say cooked food, to avoid it getting bad outside, should I cover the tiffin with it's tight lid? I mean, I hope that covering it with a tight lid does n't hasten the process of food going bad inside fridge, or does the cover have no effect whatsoever..?

Thanks

Yes- you should cover your food for two reasons:
1- you keep the flavor in the food and it helps to prevent it from drying out
2- you'll save on your electric bill....uncovered foods and liquids release moisture and make your fride work harder

stuff should be covered to avoid it smelly and tasting like other stuff in the fridge but probably doesn't hasten it going bad

covering htings keeps them from drying out. If you can't find a cover, try tin foil or saran wrap. Covering things protects them and does make them keep a little longer.
good luck
