I see so many other people's pics of many different birds getting along, but my Senegal wants to eat his parakeet neighbors. Is there any way to encourage a friendship?

Call your vet to discuss this problem and find out the proper way to take care of it.

nope - parrots are predatory birds by nature. sometimes the small fluttering of the parakeet will trigger that response in them. not all are like that. I have an eclectus and he loves all other animals even bigger birds than him. ( he is a little bigger than an african grey. but the parakeets he tries to bite but only if they come near him at his cage - so I let them out at different times.

Not all birds will get along. My conure and my female lovebird never got along, but my conure and my male lovebird got along. Some birds just aren't very friendly with bird of different species or even one of thier own species.
