I don't know about you, but no sin I've committed is bad enough for me to go to Hell with or without forgiveness. I also don't see how its "supreme justice" for all of humanity to be punished based on the actions of Adam and Eve. I'm not saying I don't believe in God, but I think humans have really wrecked getting the proper story out there. Sorry, but there's no way I believe I deserve to go to Hell due to my sinful nature. I am a good person and I do not deserve eternity in a lake of fire. Neither do you. Unless you're dumb enough to think you do, and then maybe you do.

Sorry for calling you dumb. :P Haha.. but anyway, you guys aren't really getting what I'm trying to say. Just because God is perfect and can't tolerate sin, that justifies all of us being sent to Hell forever unless we recognize that we are horrible wretched sinners and ask him to save us? Yeah, I get what you're telling me, but WHY does it not BOTHER you that the person you worship you also believe would send you to Hell if you did not worship? That sounds very similar to people virtually worshipping dictators out of fear, or the "Death Eaters" following Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter simply because they were fearful of what he might do to them if they didn't choose his side of the war.

I agree in principle. I don't have a lot of problem with Jesus, but not as the son of god, but I like his teaches and style - I too think Christians have corrupted Jesus' message to the point of being ridiculous.

Had it not been for the coming of Christ we would not have been forgiven regardless. However, you're quite right though that humanity has screwed up the original message of Christ.

If Christ had not been born, I'm pretty sure GOD would have probably gotten tired of all of us sinning regularly down here, and flooded the place again, just like back when Noah was around.

Thank GOD Christ did come. His sacriface redeemed us from not only the original sin of Adam & Eve, but also every sin that humanity has ever committed, will ever commit, and so on. That doesn't give us a license to sin as much as we want, but there's a certain freedom in knowing that I've been freed from that.

I am a Non-Denominational Christian. My faith is based solely on research from the bible, minus the man-made doctrine, which is fallacy.

According to my beliefs, when you die, you fall asleep until Christ returns. After he returns, those that believe in their heart and confess Romans 10:9&10 will go to Heaven. Those that don't will be judged by GOD. At that point you will either end up in Paradise, or will end up in Hell. GOD has the final say.

It may not be what you necessarily believe, but it is what is in the bible. Thanks and GOD Bless.

Because beyond believing there isn't much more that God asks from those willing to live a good (righteous) life. God's never asked me to go to Africa, or the Middle East. I live my life in the best way I know how and God doesn't make any demands of me beyond that. As for people who want to have their physical pleasures any old way they can get them and see God as a universal party pooper tend to reap what they sew in the form of health problems, relationship issues, or probate.

I think of it in these terms people who choose not to believe are like people without savings accounts. They spend, spend, spend and usually have all their little toys but when the money runs out it's completely gone. Believers are like people with savings accounts, they set a side a portion of what they have and it grow and builds in that place so that when the time comes and they see that really really big toy they have the money to buy it and still have money to burn after they've made their purchase.

So asking me if I'm bothered by the fact that some people in the world will go to Hell is like asking me if I feel guilty that some people have 13inch black and white TVs and I own a 60inch HD flatscreen after saving my money for an entire year.

Actually, not all Christians necessarily believe that or think it's "okay." Fundamentalists probably feel like that.

Theologians still argue about the definition of "Hell" and exactly who goes there.

I personally believe that Hell is reserved for the enemies of God such as Lucifer and his minions.

Now everyone goes to the grave and knows nothing. When judgement time comes, the truely evil and unrepentent go to Hell for punishment, the really good go to Heaven, the merely bad or unfeeling simply die, and the almost good or regular folks get to stay in a clean motel while trying to earn a spot in the Heavenly Mansion.

Remember, Jesus didn't condemn sinners. He hung out with them while trying to get them back in the fold. He reserved his anger for religious hypocrites and those who disrespected the Father.

Of course you do not think you are so bad that you deserve eternal punishment. Nobody likes to think of themselves as a bad person right?

It is true that not all sin leads to hell, in fact the Bible itself stated in new testament "There is sin that is not deadly" Catholics believe in both venial, and mortal sins. There are actual degrees to sin. Just like in our court system we have felons and misdomeaners. I do not believe someone whose only sin was stealing a pack of bubble gum from the 7-11 is going to Hell. However nothing with sins stain on it can enter Heaven.

Humanity is not being "punished" in the sense that you seem to think we are. It is not so much that were being held accountable for Adam and Eve's actions. we are merely dealing with the temporal reprecussions of their actions.

The temporal effect of their sin remains. Just like a rock thrown through a window. Even if we are forgiven of such an act the effects are still in place. You see, sin does not just affect the sinner, it effects everyone. When someone sins they think they are only wounding themselves, but in truth they wound humanity in general.

Excellent point. I've struggled with this question myself. Specifically, I had a hard time believing in a God that would sentence my non-Christian friends (not to mention my gay friends) - who are VERY good people - to eternal suffering simply because they believed differently.

Ben Franklin, Albert Einstein, and Thomas Paine (among many others) were deists. They believed in God, but not in any particular religious doctrine. Rather than what we think, the God they believed in cares only that we live good lives and are kind to our fellow man (and animals).

Franklin once wrote, "I think vital religion has always suffered when orthodoxy is more regarded than virtue. And the Scripture assures me that at the last day we shall not be examined by what we thought, but what we did…that we did good to our fellow creatures. See Matthew 25."

The fact that you're a "good person" doesn't exempt you from Hell if you die in your sinful nature. Jesus became the "ultimate sacrifice" for those who believe. If all it took was being a good person, EVERYONE with a clean sense of morality would go, and Jesus' death would be a tragic mistake. Jesus says in Scripture, "I came not to save the righteous, but the LOST". If you're morality makes you righteous enough for Heaven, who's truly lost? He didn't die for nothing!

I'm totally okay with it and I'm totally thankful for Jesus taking my place on the cross so I won't have to endure hell for all eternity. Do you know what Jesus's body went through in grave detail regarding the cricifixtion? Some people die from the scourging alone.

what is the question here? God is just and cannot look upon sin and therefore He must judge sin. Jesus came to pay the penalty for that sin with His own Blood on the cross. Jesus taught more about hell than He did about heaven while He was living in the flesh on earth. Please reconsider your idea about sin and the need to have a Savior.
