It would take a bit too much devotion to sit and watch the whole thing on the vs network, but I watch it when I get a chance. It's a lot more exciting than watching golf. They have some crashes that a Nascar fan would be proud of. Lance made me a fan several years ago, and I probably always will be. It makes every road ride I do that much better if I can imagine that I'm chasing Lance. Watching the TDF makes me want to get out and ride, even when it's hot outside. The speed and endurance of the athletes always amazes me. They either don't feel pain or they enjoy it. They just keep looking straight ahead and just keep pedaling. I wish I could stay home and watch it today instead of going to work.

Yes, since I converted from a runner to a Triathlete I find the Tour de France very interesting. The strategies are very cool and the athleticism of these men is unreal. Also this year's tour really seems to be up for grabs. It's also fun to dream about having a bike like them as well. I never would have said any of this before starting to ride myself though.

I know there have been problems with performance enhancing drugs but I think they're doing a good job to clean it up now. Either way, what most of them are doing is amazing.

I'm american.

i used to, but not this year. i am disgusted by the doping and they way they go after everyone like a witch hunt. the most exciting tour, for me was in 1989 with greg lemond and fignon, exciting all the way down to the cobblestones! greg comes from behind to win by 8 seconds. he made up the time on the time trial and hauled a**. there has not been another individual time trial to finish the tour since! serious excitement AND an american. i think its a beautiful thing that america takes the tour away from france! the so hate us. LOL

if ya havent seen it, check it out. it is a nail biter to the Nth!!

I watch tour de france when Lance Armstrong was making his comeback up to his last race (in which he won)....

However, the officials of Tour de France has been doing a horrific job of controlling the use of Performance enhancing drugs....

Floyd Landis did it and past champions had been admitting to the press that they also used somesort of performance enhancing drugs..... It is just terrible to say that I can't find a way for me to watch the Tour because of these issues....

If the commitee of the "Tour" would let us enjoy what we watch in the right and natural way.... I guess I will be watching the Tour again...

I wish I would see this in every TV channel I flip into!! Unfortunately, the only channel that is covering is VERSA. I do not have Disk 250 channel package.
Shame on ABC, ESPN and DISCOVERY. The only and only team sports America is making history for last 8 years, they don't cover. Show college football and basketball instead.
If you go outside United States, people may not know the name of a name of a single NBA or NFL player but I bet, can tell you a whole lot about 'Lance Armstrong'……!

Absolutely! I first watched the Tour in 1970s. Couldn't tell you who was who back then. I had stumbled onto it and was fascinated by the guys riding their bikes. It might have been on ABC's "Wide World of Sports." Of course ABC only showed clips and not the entire event. CBS was doing minimal coverage a few years back and then stopped completely. Only Versus covers the race in depth.

I Tivo the enhanced 3 hour version every day and watch it at dinnertime (usually the next day). It's nice to fast forward through the boring parts.
For those who say they aren't watching because it's not good this year, well you're just flat wrong! Cancellara's time trial, the sprint finishes, Cancellara's second stage win and the mountain breakaways were all outstanding.
I don't really care who wins, I just like to see a good race.

yes. why the link?
j'aime le tour de france. and i am american. i watch all the coverage, what little there is. maybe if people would sit and watch it and try to take a little interest they would see that it is more than guys on bikes.

definite this is an exciting pastime and constantly exciting. you have the degree wins and then somebody oftentimes breaks removed from the %. interior the Pyrenees. this is exciting to make certain who will finally end up the final chief and positioned on the yellow jersey. The ending could be exciting if it particularly is a different race.
