I have two kittens and did not suffer from allergies until i bathed them (they are now shedding). Its been days and I cant stop sneezing but I cant begin to think of giving them away. Is there any way my body will build some type of immunity to them?? ?

I am also allergic to cats and have had them all my life. Yes, you do build up an immunity to your own cats. I also take Zyrtec-D (as needed) and Rhinocort (daily) to help me. I don't have problems with my own cats, but if I go to someone's home that has cats and I haven't take my medicine...whoa baby!!! Face blows up like a puffer fish!

Keep your adrenals healthy. This will help your sinuses work optimally too. I wouldn't bathe them unless they rolled in a poop bucket. Cats are very clean naturally. This could limit the shedding. You may want to get one of those painters masks and brush them really good outside and then go in and totally vacuum your house out dispel orange oil for help with breathing plus it will freshen your home. You will probably need to vacuum on a daily basis. I do...sometimes 2 to 3 times if necessary. I don't like animal hair and i have 4 cats and 3 dogs! :o) Good luck!

have you tried benadryl or some other over the counter allergy aid? there are off-brands which work just as well.

you might ask another family member to take them to the basement or outside to give them a good brushing, if possible.

cats shed all year round... by the way.

take care of yourself! i hope you are able to keep the kittens. i love cats, i wish i could take them... (no room at the inn)

hugs

okay first. your not allergic to the hair. cats bathe themselves. its an enzyme in the spit that your allergic too. i learned this much on animal planet. I think the only thing you can do is take medication or you could get diffrent pets. chinchillas are nice.
