Because they don't have a "college" or Academy. As a branch of the Navy, their team is the U S Naval Academy team.
Have a great day.

Marine officers that go to a service academy go to the Naval Academy in Annapolis. One member of the 2007 graduating class at West Point got a Marine Corps commission. There is no "Marine Corps Academy).

The Marines DO have a college football team. It's called Annapolis. Since the USMC belongs to the USN, that's where their officers come from.

I think it a waste of Tax payers money, and a waste of energy, and equipment, and time, to have ANY sport team in the military.
This is supposed to be a team of protectors.
I resent All the waste.
If they want to play sports, let them go to the private sector.
If They are going to be spending MY MONEY, I want protection for it.
NOT GAMES!!!!!!!!
