Does anyone know how many surviviors there are still alive?

I am not saying they should have a state funeral i was just asking if anyone knew how many there was in relation to the petition.

There are 3 WW1 veterans still alive in the UK. And 23 confirmed veterans still alive in the World.
Those currently alive in the UK
*Henry Allingham (aged 111 -also the oldest man in Europe)
*Harry Patch (aged 109- The last British survivor of the Somme)
*William Stone (aged 106)
I do agree with this state funeral thing, but the petition is barking up the wrong tree by appealing to the government. They should first ask those three men if they want to have a state funeral and be a symbol for their generation. I'm sure they'd just prefer to have a quiet service in their home town or village, when their time comes.

WWI ended 89 years ago, if someone really lied about their age and was 15 in 1918 when they enlisted they would be 104 now, so I wouldn't be surprised if no WWI vets were still around, though it is possible.
