It's actually a lousy place to train. Being below sea level, you're putting yourself at a disadvantage for any altitude. It's fairly flat, unless you go to the edges of the valley, so there isn't much in the way of hills to run, and it's hot and dry, so you get dehydrated and heat stroke.

The only reason I can think to run there is to do a race. They actually have an ultra that goes from Death Valley to the top of Mt. Whitney, the lowest and highest points in the continental US. You have to be kind of a nut to do it though.

I have seen people run at Death Valley, I mean for exercise, along the road, but that is done during the early spring when the temperatures are quite moderate.

It's not really sane to run ACROSS Death Valley, which is known to be one of the lowest, hottest, and most unforgiving place in the nation, especially in the summertime when temperatures are a dry 120 degree Fahrenheit.

And plus Death Valley is pretty big to run across...

please look at the name..... DEATH valley... yeah... not good for training... or at least not good for an easy challenge... i dont believe people train in a valley with a name of death. yeah... no dont train there.

no, its mad hot there, i suggest not training there
