We are playing this game at my shower and I can think for the noraml stuff that is in a purse (wallet, lipstick, mirror, credit cards). What else could I put on the list of things people might have in their purse that are a little off the wall?

You asked for off the wall:

used tissue, condom, BC pills, library card (who goes to the library??? LOL), tampon, tweezers, pencil, pen, checkbook (so old fashioned!), cell phone, pictures, false eyelashes ....

Ok, I kind of agree with Fizzy about the games. But, if you can do games that don't require a lot of time or people getting up and moving around, then you will be golden. I suggest games that happen during other things, like lunch or opening of gifts. As lunch od being served or winding down, you can do a worksheet game (for example, wedding terms unscramble or word search) Or a game like "guess the kitchen herb" - put several herbs in little numbered cups and let peole write down their guess, once everyone is finished go over the answers and whoever gets the most wins. (tip: have more than one set of herbs going around). There is the purse scavenger hunt. The bride is given a list of items to request and whoever finds it the fastest wins a token, then whoever has the most tokens at the end wins a prize (make it common items and some odd ones). During the gifts, you can play bridal bingo, where each guest gets a bingo card and fills it in with what she thinks the couple will get as gifts, as the gift is opened the guest marks off the square until someone gets bingo (play this a few times, with a few prizes). Have fun.

At my shower last weekend we did 3 games. The first one was an introductory game.. 2 truths and 1 lie. You had to introduce yourself and tell how you knew the bride (me) and then 2 truths about yourself and one lie. Then you picked a name out of a hat and that person had to guess which was a lie.. it worked really well actually, because most people didn't know each other. Then we did how well you know the bride and groom and it was a questionnaire of things about the bride/groom. Then we did a wedding word scramble, it was kind of hard but fun. There is also bridal bingo which you can find online.

The last shower I was at, the list included:
Cell phone-1, Notebook-2, hand sanitizer-5, safety pin-3, fingernail clippers-2, baby wipes-3, rubberband-3, address book-2, lotion-5, band-aids-3, RED lipstick-5, coin purse-2, stamps-1, RED pen-2, fingernail polish-5, grocery list-3, gum/mints-1, bobby pin-3, etc. For ideas look through your own purse! Each item had points. Remember to speak slowly when reading off the items and repeat the # of points goven for each item. When people are looking thru their purses and pulling things out, it is hard to remember how many points that item is worth. Then people are yelling to ask how many points, etc.
Then add the total # of points and ask who had 30 or more, then who had 25 or more, and hand out prizes accordingly!
**Another fun thing is to try to add a pair of slinky panties in your mom or grandmas purse, then have slinky panties as #1 on your list. If everyone has good humor, they will think this is hilarious!

If I were to dig through my purse at any given time - I'd find two sets of keys (work keys and car/house keys), credit cards, insurance cards, pharmacy card, discount cards, receipts galore, a tampon or two, cell phone, ipod, batteries, digital camera, time card, check book, cash and coins, school id, work id, drivers license, pens, a pencil, various ticket stubs (concerts, movies, games), a beeper, eye drops, baseball schedules...and more. And this is in a small coach handbag. Really needs to be cleaned out!

more: forgot about my casion players card! And usually I have gum as I tend to chew it 24/7. And a few lighters...occasionally cigarettes (I know, I know, bad for me!) and a book or two of matches from my last trip to MGM Grand.

I always played it more as an alphebet game. Each item in the purse can only be used once.
Who has something that starts with the letter "A"?
-Almay mascara (can't be used again for "M" mascara)
-Apple lip gloss or gum (can't be used again for "L" lip or "G" gloss or gum)

But for a list of purse junk:
checks
tweezers
pen
keys
bills
grocery list
to do list
pictures
camera
cell phone
i-pod

I played that recently, we had things like your business card, tape measure (had an interior designer from a flooring place that actually had one!) grocery reciepts, picture of the bride, hair clip, stamps, hand sanitizer, lighter, cell phone, etc. I actually won the game....it was pretty amazing how much I carry!
